Hi, friends !:))

I know I am taking a risk of being
called a machine, but that is not really
true as I still think I am more human (?)(lol) :))
And in this shape I had to write a
little tune to my late dear wife !:))
A banjo and a mandolin in a Bacharachish
context ? that can´t work , can it ?

http://app.box.com/s/7ujkqxuiszb8y15bs411

and this version is with electric piano solo:

http://app.box.com/s/yflg8qlrech2fm1v2iy5

Style: BANFOLK.STY 16 ths Ac Folk w Banjo (85 RS)
Instruments used:
Bass: 712 Bass Ac Bossa (A:simple)
Piano: 1758 Banjo, rhytm
Drums: 1766 Mandolin rhytm
Guitar: 1761 Guitar Ac Strum
Strings: 1765 Guitar High-strung Ac Fingerpick.
Soloist (Pad): 1840 or 51 Synth strings 1
Soloist (guitar solo): 1510 Pedal Steel Country Working Paul Ev 160

Recorded on mixcraft 6/ vocals thru zoom h4n to my laptop

Lyrics:

MY LOVE (by Dani)
My Love, my Love
you´re all around
but not to be found
´cause you´re gone
you´re gone all away heaven bound

You were ill, so ill
your disease broke you down
I was left here alone
on the ground
yearning for you, oh my love
oh my love

Your spirit soars, I can feel it´s force
and it gives, it gives me the strength to go on
to go on

And my Love, you were my everything
you made my life complete
and everything so sweet
and you, I did it all for you
you made my heart go singing
and ringing for you

solo

My Love, my love
there will come a time
I´ll leave all behind
and it´s then
it’s then when we´ll meet once again
once again !

Your spirit soars, I can feel it´s force
and it gives, it gives me the strength to go on
to go on

Your spirit soars, I can feel it´s force
and it gives, it gives me the strength to go on
to go on, Oh my Love !!

Nice song, Dani... nice vocal and harmonies.

I like the banjo. Cannot say that I liked the steel lead, though. It did not quite "fit" the feel of the song for me... but that's one of those "personal choices", as you know...

You ARE a machine!

Keep 'em coming...

Another nice tribute Dani.

The banjo was perhaps a little more dominant than other instruments in the mix. Maybe that was intentional though. The choice of Pedal Steel for the solo I thought was a little bit disconnected compared to the rest of the song, but perhaps that was a deliberate part of your design.

Great lyrics, great job as usual

Hi, Floyd !:))

Thank you for your most kind words !:))
I did not really like the steel pedal
either so I did change the solo to
a electric piano solo (don´t know if
the solo got any better, but as you say
it might be more in line with the mood
of the song ) ?

Cheers
Dani

Hi, Blues !:))

Thank you for taking the time
to listen and comment, really
much appreciated !!:))
Yes, I do agree it is bittersweet
but it is a song with a positive
undertone as I am slowly getting
back to a normal life again, though
I do not know how to compensate
for that huge loss !!!

Cheers

Hi, Trevor !:))

Thank you so much for your
most kind comments ! I fully agree
with you and Floyd, the pedal steel
was probably too heavy here and so
I did a version with elec piano solo
too !:)) The banjo was intentional yes !:))

Cheers
Dani
