This is the song I should have written for my wife 30 years ago. It's new, written and recorded this week, but the sentiment is the same and she seems to appreciate it. Overdubs include dotted 8th guitar, lead guitar, synth and percussion.Yes, the instrumental rideout at the end was shamelessly stolen from Layla.

The Love of My Life
DGA DGA

DBmGA So many girls, so little time
DBmGA But how to tell which one is mine
DBmGA Choose too soon, your life becomes a living hell
DBmGA So many questions, how am I supposed to tell?

GAF#mBm But there she is, a beacon bright
GBmEmA Cutting through my starless night
GF#mD And she might be the love of my life
GF#mD Yeh, she might be the love of my life
DGA DGA
DBmGA Out of the darkness, she just appeared
DBmGA And now I need to keep her near

DBmF#mA She’s in my mind all the time
GF#mD And she might be the love of my life
GF#mD Yeh, she might be the love of my life
GF#mGF#m She’s the one who’s got me on the run
GF#mD And she might be the love of my life
DGA DGF#m
Bridge
EmBmF#m I can feel when she’s near, or if I cross her mind
EmBmF#mA The search is over, she’s the only one I find

DBmGA There’s something about her, I can’t explain
DBmGA The moment she leaves, I want to see her again

DBmF#mA I’m not getting desperate, not looking for a wife
GF#mD But she might be the love of my life
GF#mD Yeh she might be the love of my life
GF#mGF#m She brings the sun, it’s just begun
GF#mD And she might be the love of my life

Really nice feel on this one!! The RTs work so well together (love the piano style for this type of song). You did a nice job on the vocal. One of my favorites of yours for sure. The live rhythm sounds a tad sharp to me. Very much enjoyed this!! Take care. Greg

This was a nice one all around. I thought the same as Greg on the guitar tuning but it did not distract me. One of your better tunes so far and I enjoyed it.

I fixed the rhythm guitar and did a new lead guitar track. Lead is certainly not my talent, but I thought I could do a better job of it.
