Hi! Dug out a better camera for this one, but methinks I should have spent a bit more time on the lighting. It's all a learning process, I guess. "Long Weekend" uses a style called Jbreeze which uses the following Realtracks. RD: JAZZFUNKGROOVIN^1-a:HHSDSTK, b:HHSNR :Ricky Lawson RT1636: Bass, Electric, JazzFunkBreezy Ev16 075 , Alex Al RT1639: Piano, Electric, Rhythm JazzFunkBreezy Ev16 075 , Jeff Lorber RT1637: Guitar, Electric, Rhythm JazzFunkBreezyChords Ev16 075 , Michael Thompson RT1638: Guitar, Electric, Rhythm JazzFunkBreezyMuted Ev16 075 , Michael Thompson Long Weekend Thanks for watching, Dan

Very, very enjoyable, Dan!
Super playing.
How much time do you spend on your part before recording? Is it completely "mapped out" or is it partially improvised? Either way, it is well done - nicely melodic...

Hello.
Thanks, Sergio. I'm pleased that you liked it. Very smooth Dan. Relaxed style. Nice tone. Cheers. Thanks, Rich. Hi Dan,
very entertaining, relaxing, enjoyable. I like your playing.
Guenter Thank you, Guenter. Dan, Smooth sound. Great playing. I enjoyed it. Tom
Thanks, Tom. Now that I'm playing a bit more I find my tone and smoothness is improving. Funny how that works Hi there Dan,
A better camera..... now we can see all your equipment even better laugh Once again, this sounds very solid, you're a very good saxophone player!
Rob and Anne-Marie Thank you for such kind words, Rob and Anne-Marie. It is a better camera, but I have held off using it until now because I have to move a bit of furniture in order to use it on the tripod. I had been using my cell phone on a selfie stick which was tied to a microphone stand. Not as good resolution, but I didn't have to move my couch in order to use it, which was a plus. Very, very enjoyable, Dan!
Super playing.

floyd Thanks, floyd. I probably spend an average of three or four hours over the course of a couple days practicing each tune before I record the video. The only thing I have mapped out is the head of the tune, and even that's pretty iffy sometimes. In this particular number I ended up playing it differently on the way out than I did on the way in because I couldn't remember how I played it on the way in. lol. The courses in between are as close to improvised as I can make them. If you asked me to play it again, I could come up with something similar, but it wouldn't be exactly the same. Thanks for watching, Dan

Nice Dan. Your backing track was great and I enjoyed the sax melody and improv. It was a nice mix. I'm curious you record and mix the sound for the video.

Charlie Thanks, Charlie. Nice Dan. Your backing track was great and I enjoyed the sax melody and improv. It was a nice mix. I'm curious you record and mix the sound for the video. Thanks, Patrick. The recording was done directly in Band In A Box using the audio record function. I promised myself I wouldn't spend a huge amount of time on the mixing of these videos, so the mix was done in Band In A Box, too. The video and the resultant audio track were then edited together using Windows Movie Maker. Thanks for watching, Dan
