Bob,
beautiful! a lovely tune, and a good arrangement, what was the string sound for the "solo"? 'cos it was really nice.
What a wonderful end! "while the music played......we danced"

I'll go with Lovely to keep beautiful from being used up. But it's beautiful too.
You are so on the mark with your songs.
My only personal nit was at 0:16 the guitar seemed to 'sail' in a way that overstated that particular phrase and was different from the rest of the guitar phrasing throughout the song. Very, very minor distraction of a second at most and I'm likely the only one it will ever affect. This was a good fit for your vocals.
Great write, performance and production as your songs always are.

A delightful song Bob. The guitar is sweet and melodic and the strings are just perfect. Are they Realtracks?

Robert,
You old romantic, you!
It takes real talent to write such a meaningful song using so few words. Real. Talent.
The production is one of your best! Besides what you listed in the style, there is also piano, organ, strings - all nicely done! The strings solo sounds like you must have played that - or certainly "wrote" it out in MIDI?
Your vocal is terrific... (but I think Johnny Mathis may be looking for this...)
Excellent through and through.

Charlie Charlie - Thanks. I'll have to have a talk with the guitar player on that clunker. Probably should have redone it, but it is what it is. Hope you are enjoying the most beautiful State in the country. (Oh, how I miss the Upstate!) Regards, Bob

I love romantic songs, and this is a beauty Bob!! Sweet, simple melody that is instantly memorable. Lovely arrangement and vocal. Should be in a romantic scene of a film. Really tops all the way around!! Take care. Greg

That was pretty. Liked the instrument choices and the additional sounds and as noted elsewhere the strings. An excellent production. Very nice indeed. (Need a thesaurus when commenting late so as not to be repetitive!)

Hi Bob,
I've been away from the forum for a while and this was the first song I listened to on my return. Wow! I can't believe that such a beautiful song only needed 61 words to mesmerise me. That really shows just how very competent you are at songwriting and arranging.
Everything about this says "this man really knows what he's doing" to me.
Outstanding! Noel

floyd floyd, Thanks for the listen and kind remarks. I step-sequenced the organ and strings in Sonar X3, with Dim Pro. I'll be glad to get this melody out of my head. Now that it's done, I can move on. Regards, Bob

Outstanding! Noel Hey Noel. Hope you are well. 61 words? Pretty wordy, I'd say. I haven't been posting much lately either. We've been playing out a lot, and it takes most of our time. We have two weeks off after today, so I'm going to get back in the studio. I've got 28 songs that I'm almost done with – I just lack the discipline to finish them. Don't miss floyd's newest one – it's a corker (or a “beaut” as you might say Down Under). Regards, Bob

I love hearing a minimalist song in a lyrical sense. It really takes a focused effort to convey the story with few words.
Regarding the guitar glitch there at 16 seconds.... MELODYNE. ME can fix that like it was never there.
Loved the DimPro strings. Tasty. I was expecting to hear a minimalist acoustic solo over them however, echoing the melody. It sounded like it started in that direction.
Great job on a lovely tune.
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.
