Another Anniversary song for the best wife in the world.

https://90dbband.bandcamp.com/track/first-dance

First Dance

©2014 Robert Randall Burke

If I could
If you would
Just have this one dance with me
We could be
You would see
Just how good
One dance can be.

I think I've been waiting for you
For all of my life
So do me the honor
Of the first dance with my wife.

I hate to presume
But you lit up the room
With your smile
And I've been so lonely and sad
For such a long while.

I know I've been waiting for you
All of my life
Please do me the honor
Of the first dance with my wife.

I got up the courage
To ask you to dance
Could this be the start
Of the greatest romance?
Sometimes you just have to
Leave it to chance
And just dance.

If I could
If you would
Just have this one dance with me
We could be
You would see
Just how good
One dance can be.

Well you've just provided me with a special song to play for my wife on our upcoming wedding anniversary on valentine's day...

The story really fits us well. Dancing is very much a part of her social personality. She's always danced. Me, not so much.

The hardest thing now is to not get impatient. It will be difficult for me to not play it for her until February...

Really enjoyed the song. It's another good one in your arsenal.

Awww Shucks!

How good is that!

Before the song started I was already tapping 1,2,3...2.2.3

Really great lyrics Bob, the style and instruments are perfect.

Your wife is a very lucky woman. (I'll bet she probably tells you you're a very lucky man)

In a word: Nice

This is terrific! It has 'classic' and 'standard' written all over it.

'I hate to presume
But you lit up the room'

Love that!

Well done, Sir:)

Hi Bob,

A superb creation... I find it impossible to listen to music like this and not feel like dancing. Everything about this words, music, singing, production is terrific.

Noel

What a wonderful, wonderful song!! I could see this at a very sentimental part of a film with still images (you might even want to make a slide show-perfect for this song). As Scott said, it has a very classic feel. I could imagine BJ Thomas singing it. Very, very nice Bob!! Take care. Greg

Hi, Bob !

What a lovely tune !
I loved everything about it !
I cannot challenge you regarding
the best wife as my wife is nnot
with us anymore, but the most important
thing is that you both love each other
resulting in such a wonderful song !

There´s nothing that beats one´s own
emotions in composing and songwriting !

May you both have a most wonderful time
for now and for the future !

Cheers
Dani

Hi Bob.

What a super song.

As ever, beautifully sung with lots of emotion and I love the way you left introducing the harmonies until the very end - clever piece of arranging.

This sounds like film music to me - it generates images as I listen to it.

Congrats to you both on the anniversary.

Nice song. I heard a classic Merle Haggard vibe in there in several places. It also has a sort of Willie Nelson songwriting vibe as well. Seashores of old Mexico kept coming to mind.

Loved the song.

"Marriage is the most natural state of man, and... the state in
which you will find solid happiness."
Ben Franklin

Absolutely begs a video to complement the wonderful
imagery. We love the write and vocal delivery. It
has heartfelt and sincerity all over it w/o a hint
of being overwrought.

The production is perfect for the song and as others
have mentioned it would be perfect in film.

Exceptional!
