This is another song with 'Japanese vocal' plus 'the video'. Its title is "Jo-no-Uta"("Introductory Poem" in English) which is the name of the poem by Tohson Shimazaki. The poem is placed at the top of the poem collection titled "Waka-na-shu" as its introductory poem. I composed a song for this poem (the vocal version) and posted it to Youtube with the video I also created. You can find it at the following address.

https://youtu.be/_H2IDMD7hqo

The video comprises my photographs of 'Adachi Museum of Art' of which gardens have been ranked at No.1 in Japan for 13 years by the Journal of Japanese Gardening, a US magazine.

https://www.adachi-museum.or.jp/en/

I have also attached the English translation of the poem (translated by me) together with the original Japanese poem to the video subtitles.

I also created its instrumental version which is shorter and more melodious than the vocal version, and uploaded it to Soundcloud.

https://soundcloud.com/hirokata1121/jo-no-uta

I hope you enjoy both of the song and the video.

*** Song Summary ***
[Instrumental Version]
Title: Jo-no-Uta
Key=C , Tempo 80
Style: HEALING1.STY (Healing1 - Meditative Soundtrack)

[Vocal Version]
Title: Jo-no-Uta
Key=C , Tempo 80
Style: _POPOMSL.STY (Med-Slow PopBallad w Organ(85 RS))
MIDI SuperTracks: 2332:Koto, Synth, Rhythm NewAge Ev 110
*The Koto part was manually modified so that it fits more to Koto play, which is really exceptional case.

I used Sonar X3 for both versions as usual. I also used Vocaloid editor and singer "Mew" for the vocal version.

Hiroshik your song and the video are very beautiful. Such magnificent gardens. I was in Japan in 1967 for a week but I did not get to view much of the country, but what I did see was beautiful. I could see Mount Fuji from a distance and it was very picturesque. I am always amazed with the Vocaloid singers and your ability to produce it. Your use of the instruments was very pleasing and I enjoyed all of it.

Really pretty music!! And, although I'm not always a fan of the vocaloid, it works very well with this kind of melody. Nice work!! Take care. Greg

Very nice achievement and atmosphere with japanese flavours Hiroshik. I love the garden too, cause I enjoy gardening maybe more than making music.

I confess also that I prefer the orchestral release than the one with the vocaloid voice.

Sonny,

Thank you for your kind feedback. I am delighted to know you enjoyed my music and video very much. Yes, the garden is magnificent. The museum is in the countryside very far from big cities. The area of the garden is about 40 acres (16 hectares). Its background is not walls but mountains! It has been about 50 years since your visit to Japan. Japan has changed a lot for these 50 years. We still have a lot of beautiful places to visit though. Mt. Fuji keeps its beauty but it is hard to see it from a distance now because of tall buildings or air dust. I hope you will have a chance to come to Japan again and enjoy them.

Hi Pascal,

Thank you for your kind comment. I am really glad you enjoyed my music and video. Frankly, I was a little bit worried if the vocal version would be well accepted by the members because its melody is very Japanese and its vocal is in Japanese. When I finished up the instrumental version, however, I could feel confident about the song because it was much better than I had expected smile

Making songs is a fun but it is not good for health because it is a desk work completely indoor. In contrast, gardening is a physical work outdoor under the sun. Its result is a very beautiful garden which is really enjoyable. You do both! I think it is great.

Plus 2 here.

That was very soothing and the video is a great accompaniment. I think
for this feel the vocaloid does work exceptionally well and if Guenter says
so that is high praise. His work with vocaloids is very impressive.

We enjoyed it very much and the garden is stunning.

I think I understand what you mean by 'strange' because I myself feel the same way smile . I think it is because the melody is of a sort of Japanese style. It is, however, different from the traditional Japanese style. So I do not know what I should call it. I made the melody so that it follows the intonation of Japanese lyrics as much as possible, and I believe that is the reason.
