Hi. Here's my newest composition. I hope you enjoy it. Vocal, vibes, trumpet and flute are mine. I mixed this in the Reaper DAW, using some reverb from one of their VSTs. As It Happens: copyright 2017, Sam Buttrey: When I'm with you, it makes me want to try to dance, You make me feel like I can fly through the air, But as it happens I can't dance at all, I look ridiculous, but I don't care. When I'm with you, it makes me want to sing out loud, You make me want to raise my voice to the sky, But as it happens I can't sing a note, And when I start, it makes the children cry. In my dreams I hold on to you with heart and hands, But if you see or hear me when I sing or dance, There's no chance. What can I do to make you start to notice me? Perhaps some poetry would do the trick. But as it happens I can't rhyme at all, Except for several bawdy limericks. --------------------------------------------------------- I'd paint a picture like the ones DaVinci made, So future generations honor your name. But as it happens I can't draw at all, I still have trouble with that "Hangman" game. I'd cook a meal for all your senses to enjoy, The kind to bring an epicure to his knees, But as it happens I can't cook a lot, Just macaroni and that powdered cheese. All these things that I want to do to make you mine, Let me be the man you thought you'd never find -- Never mind. What can I do to make you start to notice me? Perhaps a new Ferrari, something like that. But as it happens I just bike to work, In orange vest and stupid plastic hat. --------------------------------------------------------- When I'm with you, it makes me want to try to dance, You make me feel like I can fly through the air, But as it happens I can't dance at all, I look ridiculous, but I don't care -- I look ridiculous, but I don't care.

Interesting arrangement. I enjoyed your vocal.
Some funny lines along the way "..orange vest and plastic hat..". I think folks would enjoy seeing a lyric to follow along... has a Tom Lehrer feel to it...

Definitely a unique feel. Like floyd mentioned it would be nice to have the lyric available.

This is a different kind of song. It took a few bars to start to feel the rhythm then it got very enjoyable. Has a very cool feel to it.

Hello Buttrey,
I enjoyed your song very much. So fun and lighthearted with lyrics that made me laugh and a great Latin beat. Maybe it's just me, but I would've liked the background instruments a little louder in the mix. I enjoyed your vocal, you have a lovely tone and were very expressive.
