Yeah I know we all have a stack of EQs, so who really wants another? But this new one is really different. It has a match EQ function that I just used to match my master buss with a professionally mastered reference track. Damn it's good! I always do several 'masters' of my own tracks to get a result I like. These include Ozone presets plus whatever chains I'm currently playing with. This EQ blew everything out of the water in seconds. Def worth a go. Equivocate EQ

Unclear if the pianist is a total beginner or a professional jazz player?

I have been playing with it and it is excellent. I like the fact that I can solo or mute one or more frequencies. That is a great feature.
This may be the best freebee that I have ever gotten.
Thanx again for sharing this.

I've never used any software that requires iLok. Will I regret going down that path for just this?
Thanks,
Bud

I prefer iLok to the schemes that write something unknowable to your hard drive. My iLok key just sits there and I don't notice it. If I wanted to, I know I could take the key and use the software on another computer.

Ilok's not a real bother these days now that the license is in the cloud. It's just like the Waves system or Gobbler or any other cloud thingy that developers are using. Set and forget.

My experience has been that it's been pretty easy to install the license locally (to use) and then shove it back to the cloud if need be when you are done.
I do have a few libraries that give me two authorizations. So for those, I install one license locally on the machine that I don't care to attach the dongle to, and then install the other license on the dongle (which I can move freely between my other two machines, depending upon the one I'm working on). And then if it happened that the first machine completely died (which won't happen, because I have Acronis Images), but if it did, I could still use the dongle license. Best of both worlds.

Important little detail: it's only free through the end of the month.....I wouldn't dally if interested PS: if you have a low patience level for having to go through about oh 300 steps just to get something free, don't bother I'll muddle through with the ones that require less torturous methods, like waterboarding lol

I wouldn't mind to try it but I'm having troubles just to get my ilock id. The page comes up wit a "time expire" label and can't go on. Frustrating.'

This is only a free demo for 30 days. Is that right? I am not interested in falling in love with the new free EQ and then finding I have to pay $100 to keep it.

Pretty sure it's not just a demo. It's a giveaway - that's what it says. A lot of developers are doing it with new releases. I guess it's a marketing thing to get the word out.

Downloaded. So far looks like a "free" license with no time limitations. Oh, there is that iLok thing, but I long ago got an account to pick up some free stuff so that was not a big issue for me. I did have a bear of a time getting Reaper to "see" the .dll, but that is not a new problem for me and Reaper. The thing that made the decision to download 1) Free, 2) Can never have to many EQ presets, and finally 3) this freebee got very good reviews over in the Reaper formum - https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=196200&highlight=equivocateThanks for the heads up. Can't wait for the Holiday sales. So much to buy and so little money! BTW, I tracked the orgins of this plugin... https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=491392&start=165

I did have a bear of a time getting Reaper to "see" the .dll, but that is not a new problem for me and Reaper. For you Reaper folks. What ended up solving this for me was to clear the plugin cache and rescan. The problem was I didn't have the iLok software running when Reaper first scanned the plugin, and apparently it got blacklisted after that. So after I cleared the cache, I made sure the activation software was running and Reaper found it that time.

FYI Looks like EQuivocate was updated again, to v1.0.5 https://www.eventideaudio.com/suppor...598/installersfrom, https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewt...70bf4#p6892109EQuivocate 1.0.5 is now available which fixes some OpenGL rendering issues, and allows you to turn off OpenGL entirely if needed. If you were experiencing extreme CPU load, or sliders that don't show up, release 1.0.5 should fix your problems.
