"The Girl For Me"

This is a short and sweet love song with (what is intended to be) a humorous twist.

The band is from style Pop8_60s.sty, so it's all MIDI except for RealDrums (and of course vocals). I used the audio output from BIAB's built-in synths: the instruments are Acoustic String Bass (33), Bright Piano (2), Clean Electric Guit (28). RealDrums are PopBouncy^1-a:Snare, HiHat , b:Snare, Ride

The sax intro is MIDI too, via a nice VSTi named DVS saxophone. I mixed in Reaper, and used some reverb from there, too.

I hope you find it amusing.

The sax is clipping or doing something crazy - the esses in your vocal are doing it also so may be the reverb being used.
I nice redevelopment of Makin' Whoopie.
Fun.

Hi Buttrey,

That was a funny story, although sending the lyrics with your post could help. Maybe it was a sad story and I missed the clue completely! Because you sing about the girl you want, but she is your wives' sister. That could be sad!

The way you sang it is very nice and gently, so to say. Like that.

One little thing in the beginning; the sax almost damaged my ears despite my tinnitus. It was too loud in relation to the rest of the band, I think. You can easily adjust this if you agree with me.

Thanks to both rayc and Birchwood for the feedback. I've been mixing (and listening) on an inexpensive set of headphones and apparently it's time to upgrade.

Thanks again.

Buttrey,

A cute, clever little tune. I did enjoy my listen. A couple of good production suggestions above, but a strong start and easy finish with those tweaks. Nice choices on the instrumentation. Fun listen!

All my best,

Deej
