Lyrics
While by the sheep we watched at night
Outside Bethlehem on the west bank shepherd’s field
While by the sheep we watched at night
Dogs prowl in the shadows, jackals try to steal
While by the sheep we watched at night
We trembled in the presence of angels as they sang

Chorus
Glory to God in the highest heaven
Peace on earth to those He is pleased
Born to you today, the Savior, Messiah
The good, good news of great, great joy
The good, good news of great, great joy

While by the sheep we watched at night
The angels left for Heaven with their words left in our ears
While by the sheep we watched at night
The news of the Messiah cast out all our fears
While by the sheep we watched at night
We savored the message of angels for they sang

ch

And we saw with our eyes the babe in the manger
And we spread what we heard from on high

ch
The good, good news of great, great joy

Good song.
Mix wise your voice isn't in the same room as the band - if you exported RealTracks with the BAIB EQ & Reverb intact that would explain the separate rooms - this isn't as evident when the harmonies are happening.
There're some heavy duty sibilant things happening throughout possibly accentuate by the vocal treatment.
Really nice melody and harmonies are a treat as well.

I did. I never looked into exporting a ‘dry’ version.

I do have a plugin I could try and see if it makes a difference.

Thanks for the listen and feedback, Ray laugh

Hello James ...

This is the first time I've listened to one of your songs. Good to "meet" you!

Really nice! I agree with Ray on one point in particular. If you either add a little reverb to your vocal, or take some off the b/g tracks, I think the blend would be just a bit more dynamic.

The vocal harmonies were excellent ... very nicely done! And the backing tracks were real good choices.

Wishing you the best ...

Alan

An excellent song, and really, really nice choices for the phrasing in the melody. I hear a lot of songs that just sort of drift along but you've really nailed this and taken some risks and it has paid off. The vocal harmonies are excellent - like butter. You kept me guessing with where you were going next and I was pleasantly surprised when things took a tonal left turn. What I hear in your music is an excellent tonic and harmonic sense. I don't know if you have studied music theory (I'm just starting), but it sounds like you are applying a number of techniques that work well in that arena.

I just listened to your latest remix and IMHO it is perfect!

Great work, strong vocal, excellent lyrics, and a good mix.

This sounds great to me.

Thank you, Greg.

I agree the revised mix was better than the original by adding more reverb.
