https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2024/05/logic-pro-takes-music-making-to-the-next-level-with-new-ai-features/We won't know what it really is till we get our hands on it. It sure looks like it does some of BIAB's lifting. As both a BIAB and Logic User I already find the Logic Drummer to be helpful in my arrangements. I mostly use it to add percussion (conga, timbale, etc) to the project. I have not replaced the BIAB drummer in too many project but have used Logic Drummer to Midi - to Superior Drummer. That worked well in a couple projects. The future Will be interesting. Also, AAPL's delivery of Logic to the tablet is pretty convincing evidence you won't be tied to a desktop computer in the future..... unless. you want to be. Logic Pro takes music-making to the next level with new AI features Session Players, Stem Splitter, and ChromaGlow make Logic Pro for iPad and Mac smarter than ever Where's PG with iPad Biab ????? Maybe I didn't mention JUCE, maybe that is the problem, otherwise they would have a Win,Lin,Mac, iOS and Android already: JUCE is a cross platform framework allowing a single codebase to compile to native applications and plug-ins with the same user experience on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android, across both desktop and mobile. Native applications can be launched in the iOS and Android device simulators to simplify testing and debugging, and can be packaged up for distribution within the mobile app stores. While PG are still working on the Mac version for the last 5 months.........

That sounds right ! How many more users would you get with an iPad version of Biab ! The Plugin Standalone is a good place to start.

Ipad version would be cool, but unlikely a money maker. Apps just don't cost very much, but i can imagine the value of a tablet version for live playing. Seriously your arranger idea. +1 for sure.

What is RealBand ? it's neither here nor there. Rather than all the development time spent on Biab, to make Biab a DAW, why was it not spent on RealBand to put the Delphi generate code directly into RealBand generating tracks up non destructively without having to run BBW2 in the background creating and render tracks to a hard drive full of wav files with massive SEQ files ? It's just all so wrong how it all works without much thought for tomorrow. PG don't seem to initiate the right thing in the first place unless they are forced to do it, like apple forcing them to go 64bit, and there are going to be more things coming, as mrgeeze posted https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2024/05/logic-pro-takes-music-making-to-the-next-level-with-new-ai-features/Is there going to be a mad rush panic attack to catch up when more and more things FORCE them ? At the moment they are flat out programing the Mac version with the same things they spent the previous 6 months doing on Win, while other companies already have crossplatform version of their software out released at the same time. Ask yourself.

As i said in the pother thread, great idea but remember Logic is not cross platform it is Mac and IOS only and it is a very finicky program in that it only works on brand new Macs older one are shut out of all new features. Stuck in time. BiaB does not do that!
You are right that the plugin needs more attention, let's hope your efforts are rewarded on this one as they were in the reaper connection to the plugin. Still the Logic example is probably not the right comparison. you have to admit it looks very sharp!!!

I'm not promoting to buy Logic for iPad, I'm trying to get PG's to look at the potential of the JUCE Plugin. Forget Logic !

Is that actual writing on that wall ? No longer using it as I have sold off the Mac and going fully iOS with the new iPad and Logic Pro. Will keep the Sufrace pro and my Windows BIAB drive just in case I need it in the future but the Mac version Audiophile is available. $650 AUD (that's ab out $400 USD) - open to small negotiation. Will post anywhere in the World at buyer cost.
Please contact via PM if interested. And can we keep the PMs directly on topic please...no asking how I am doing anything else or plans or anything like that - PMs only about purchase enquiries, thank you The main point of all this is not getting PG users to buy Logic on an iPad but look at the potential of the JUCE Plugin, If apple have done this will not other companies follow with similar now, where will this leave PG ? "Create and edit chord progressions in the Chord Track while your Session Players follow along.""More energy needs to be put into the JUCE BBPlugin/Plugin Standalone/Live Arranger giving Win/Lin/Mac/iOS/Android: The writing is on the wall." How much would you spend on a new iPad with Biab Live Arranger compared to a RealTracks Live Arranger keyboard ? I can't see how there is a sustainable future with 6 months programing on Win then another 6 months programing on Mac doing the same thing. I'll ask again, do you think double programing is a good thing, will it last 10-20 years down the track ?Example: Still Waiting for Current Fixes Needed for 6.0.13 (Reaper) Posted Sat Jan 27 2024 08:23 AM Today Wed May 8 2024 10:09 AM It can't be fixed because they are working on the Mac for last 5 months so there is no one to program BBW4 that it needs before anything can be done with the JUCE Plugin. It's all wrong how it all works, or doesn't work. That's why I say "the writing is on the wall".

all.
fyi every time i look for apps for my tablet..they are quite simple and missing things i want.
it would have to be a simple biab due to tablet architecture... which would i suspect frustrate users.... in essence a developer is limited by platform archifecture. bb has a huge amount of content to further complicate things.
bb is not like one doing simple tasks like me typing this text on my tablet... i would love bb on my tablet...but there would be limitations that might annoy me.
this is a no win situation for a developer....imho. an ipad pro is a very different more powerfull product than a 100 bucker tablet and also ten times the cost or more due to useing the fab new m cpu silicon.
much as i like the new ipad...i cant just justify the cost particularly as i can buy all day powerfull refurb laptops for 200 bucks which will run bb and rb. my last refurb i did over 90 songs with. ran like a champ with ssd. my new mini pc with ryzen and m2 ssd is amazeing for 400 bucks. rb reports i can do over 200 tracks in a song.
happiness.
om

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
