Breaking The Wall This song is dedicated to all stubborn people who try to solve a problem, like a stuck screw, with their own hard work and without listening to other people's advices. I surely can relate to them, maybe you have similar tendencies? BIAB once again provided an excellent band, sounds quite like Foo Fighters in my ears. Unfortunately, those electric guitars couldn't handle pushes and micro chords well enough, so I had to find another solution for the bridge/solo and my choice was to add some Latin instruments, hopefully they work even in the context of a grunge song And for this type of a fast rock song, NineZero is my favorite Synth V vocalist. RealDrums: RockHardKick01, RumbaFlamencaPerc RealTracks: Electric Bass #1523 Acoustic Guitar Grunge #3182 Electric Guitar Grunge #3727, Rock Heavy #2757 Electric Guitar solo #3441 Accordion #3048 Vocals: Synthesizer V NineZero (lead + backing), Kevin (backing) Mixed in Cakewalk by Bandlab (with Neutron 4, Nectar 4, Ozone 11, Neoverb) Lyrics: They say: can't defy your destiny but they can't question my fidelity I rather play the victim than run for a wreath I'm headstrong and fool I am biting my teeth. Banging my head against the wall until it breaks ready to rush to the bitterest fall whatever it takes I'm breaking the wall x4 They say: can't evade the reaper man but they should sympathize I have a plan I swim against the mainstream I dare the dead ends with brute force and grit bars of bad luck to bend. Banging my head... I can't live my dream but I can protest I know I can't win, but I sure try I'll be a hero in my own eyes if I can go on 'til the lilies cry. I'm breaking the wall x4 ------------------------- Janne

Janne, this sounds great! Very experimental composition and use of BiaB, but it all works quite nicely. Fantastic vocal arrangement, and when NineZero sings "until it breaks" it sounds VERY dynamic and cool. Not a vocalist I recall hearing before but I like him a lot. I think I hear strings mixed back in the chorus, is that the accordion? Anyway, I like this a lot! Since you mentioned it, I find the lack of realistic pushes one of BiaB's biggest annoyances. Glad you were able to compose your way around it.

Janne,
Another great song and outstanding use of Synth V. The vocal is a perfect fit and the arrangement is superb.
Love the big mix - sounds awesome through my speakers.

Magic! Interesting changes and fantastic production. NineZero fits flawlessly, and it sounds like he could Gilbert & Sullivan too. I hear your pushes. BiaB could impove in that area, but you made it perfect. Much enjoyed the groove. Spendid results from a determined creator. Well crafted, Janne.

Cool song with some interesting changes, I like that. Too bad I can't stand Ninezero's nasal voice (he always sounds like he has the sniffles), but that's not your fault.

Janne,
What a killer opening! Great mix and use of vocaloids. Might be my favorite from you . . . it’s just a wall of impressive sounds . . . I’m halfway through and already know I’m going to listen to this one again, if just to further appreciate all the nuances in the production. Excellent, excellent work!
Oh, and love the ingenious insertion of the accordion on this tune!
My very best to you,
Deej

Haven't heard a BIAB song sound quite like this. A nice huge sound, and excellent Synth V programming. Very clever and original.

Hi, Janne. This started well, and got more interesting as it went along. I find NineZero a bit hard to use, but he sounds perfect for this. Good job sounding different, too. My youngest daughter walked by and asked "What's that?", which rarely happens. Nice work!

Yes, we can hear a little of the Foo Fighters and a little Steely Dan! Ninezero and Kevin did a fine job with the vocals.
The powerful grunge band and then the Latin feel in the bridge/solo sound fine. It's an experimental mashup that completely works for us.
The lyric, melody and progression are creative and well executed. Like Deej mentioned several listens are needed to appreciate the subtleties of the song.
We enjoyed it!

Glad you were able to compose your way around it. Thanks DC for your pleasant feedback Glad you liked the vocals, it's the AI used that mimics human-like elements and in the part you mentioned, it was automatic. With NineZero, it is problematic to get enough dynamic, because everything sounds loud, I had to use manual mode on some notes and I have found a trick to get larger dynamic scale. Yes, there is an accordion, unusual addition for a rock song, but I'm glad you found it working BIAB is not an easy tool, you have to find right instruments that work with strange chords and rapidly changing progressions, but luckily the instrument selection is very large, there's usually always a good replacement. Janne

I really like the chord structure, arrangement and production of this rock song, it's an excellent composition, but for me the Synth V vocals let it down. It deserves better!

Hi Janne,
A good song, a funny sounding NineZero and a protesting, banging melody. So that fits with those lyrics. But I believe you'll break your head sooner than that wall! You had an interesting choice of instruments. But like I said, suitable for this song.
I only noticed those electric guitars had a hard time somewhere around 2:35 and further. Nothing serious, but it came to me there. Yes, I like what I heard. I'm breaking the wall is still in my head!!!
For a more serious song I wouldn't pick Nine Zero...
Hans

Awesome song and production. I love it!. Killer chorus. the vocaloid and harmony sound so good. The instrumentation you ended up using work---I can't imagine it being as effective with any other combo.

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
