February 17, 2015 User Showcase Song - The Theory of Everything
A new song The Theory Of Everything finished right on the Valentine's day, although I started writing it already in 2013. Also video available at YouTube. Inspired by the quantum theory, not the movie, although I changed the title to match with it. I do not take any responsibility on the theoretical accuracy blush
The song is written by me, all those great inspiring instruments by BIAB (+Floyd's loop). The vocalist was hired from Supreme Tracks and I think his voice fits nicely into the song. Mixed in Adobe Audition, Melodyne used for some vocal modifications and vocal harmony.

February 16, 2015 User Showcase Song - Wiser Woman
Rob wrote this song for me (for my birthday) back in 2013.
He used the program One Man Band for it (similar to BiaB, but without real tracks). We decided to create a Biab version of it. Contrary to the original version, I did the backing vocals here.
We decided to use the original video. In 2008 4 long-eared owls were born in a tree behind my house. They got quite used to the sight of me (not afraid at all), so I got lots of chances to use my camera. The video features an almost full rotation of the mother owl's head at 1.27 m.

February 12, 2015 User Showcase Song - WTG
A few weeks ago I pondering all the social media/texting short cuts, e.g., LOL, OMG, WTG, etc and ended up writing what I felt was a decent verse, chorus and hook....but the muse, who rarely visits, abruptly left. I revisited it a couple of times and remained stonewalled. Still thinking I might have something going I ask floyd if he'd help out. And he did, big time. In short order he added another verse, the bridge and came up with a great melody. A while back we co-wrote "Tryin'" and it resulted in us posting a guy and a gal version. So look for the guy version of this from floyd!
It's all just for fun but we do welcome and appreciate your comments!

February 11, 2015 User Showcase Song - Who's gonna Light My Cigarettes
I had a girlfriend in 2010 who loved movies. She claimed to be a cinephile. And in one of her favorite movies Cary Grant had two cigarettes in his mouth and he'd light them, then hand one to the leading lady.
So my girlfriend would light two cigarettes and give one to me.
Never mind that the last night we were together she punched me in my face and broke my jaw and I know this because I could not fit so much as a tooth brush in my mouth for two weeks. Still I have fond memories of her. Don’t ask me why.
After we went our separate ways, I wrote this song from an Americana point of view but the rhythm in my right hand … (I’m left-handed but I play a right-handed guitar) … the rhythm in my right hand was always syncopated like jazz. So when I tried to record this song with BIAB it just never worked. After months of searching I stumbled upon …
SAMBA!!!

February 10, 2015 User Showcase Song - 5 More Reasons Why Don't You Save Me (Remix)
In my latest remix contest I processed two songs. This is the second one.
I only used vocals and drums from the original.
After playing the chords in 6/8 measure I had problems importing them into BiaB. So I changed the tempo and the measure to 3/4.
I used following RTs:
RT1192_ Bass, Electric, PopRockWaltz Ev 140
RT855_ Guitar, 12-String Acoustic, Rhythm RockWa
RT863_ Guitar, Electric, Rhythm PopRockWaltzPulsi
866_ Guitar, Electric, Rhythm PopRockWaltzSte
RT1168_Guitar, Electric, Soloist RockBalladBrent Ev 065 (Bluesy)
RT1209_Guitar, Acoustic, Rhythm GypsyJazzBalladGonzalo Sw 11
Here is what came out:

February 06, 2015 User Showcase Song - From You To Me (Josie with Pat on Guitar
This is my version of Charlie's (Forum User c_fogle) song with Pat on lead guitar and cello. It's more of a pop rock version so the vocal is heard but not as out front as some other genres. The mandolin and piano alternate in focus (volume)to add a bit of movement to the track. I tried to make it my own going for an ethereal feel with a slow dance make out vibe while staying true to the soul of Charlie's song. Special thanks to Pat for the guitar and cello.

February 02, 2015 User Showcase Song - Hard Times, Come No More
Hard Times, Come No More was written by Stephen Foster in 1853 (obviously putting it in the Public Domain smile ) He wrote it as a plea to the more fortunate to be more understanding of those less fortunate. A plea that continues to resonate through the years.
It has been recorded by countless artists with the first wax cylinder version appearing in 1905. We did a version years ago with our bluegrass band and have often thought of it after becoming introduced to BiaB. Since the vast majority of interpretations have been folk versions we decided to try something a bit edgier while attempting to maintain the melancholy feel. Toward that end we also placed it in a minor key. We slightly tweaked the lyrics here and there to make it a bit less Victorian in style.
