I got pretty exited a few weeks ago when I discovered that Pat Martino is a member of the BiaB-family.

He is a very good guitar player and if you don't know his history then I urge you to read up on it. He had an illness that caused him to forget everything about how to play the guitar, but then he just started to learn it again and later received an award for "best guitar-player". Pretty amazing story!

I was just experimenting with an orchestra and guitar combo.

BiaB style = Slow, Peaceful 3/4 Orc
Tempo = 45 BPM
Bass - I copied the bass track. One bass track I left as a double bass. The other bass track I transposed up and octave and change the bass to a cellos
The Piano track became a harp track
The guitar became an solid state orchestra track
The strings remained strings
I played the lead violin track via my wind controller.
I copied the lead violin track, lowered it an octave, and change it to a viola track.
All of the above tracks had a Presonus Pro EQ on them.
Lead guitar - my Kramer Nightrider into the Amplifkation Vermilion amp VST. I added the TRS Tape Echo to it.
The master track effects were the Presonus EQ, Presonus compression and the soft tube saturation.

My wife`s 50th birthday approaches - I thought she might enjoy a song about beginnings.Raised ( like so many Thai kids) by her grandmother, she likes to tell tales about their nighttime food foraging and all the tough love.The last verse is a little cryptic, but hopefully she`ll get it.

I had a thought to do a Western Swing style song Saturday night, so I just grabbed my pen and started writing the first things that came to my head. In about 20 minutes, I had the words, so I jumped over to Band In A Box, and threw together a quick arrangement to go with the words. This program is so awesome, it only took a few minutes to identify what instruments I wanted, and then after a few regenerations, I had the arrangement ready. Dropped the renderings over into Studio One, and added vocals, and here we go! (I'm sure I probably overestimated your interest in how I wrote the song, but anyway... Here is Leave Your Blues At Home.) Hope you enjoy it...

The allergy season in Virginia has wreaked havoc on my voice, so I am posting a ditty that I wrote and recorded last August but haven't posted here. I wrote this song to be reminiscent of what you would hear on American AM radio during yesteryear. "Dubeck and Benji" has a two-fold symbolism for me. It represents the bands we used to listen to when we were teens, but the bands didn't always stay around. Secondly, Dubeck and Benji were the nicknames my musically adroit German grandfather bestowed upon my brother and me, respectively. We used to sing in a band together in the early 80s--my brother's tenor harmonizing with my baritone made for a sweet mix.

This song is a family favorite now. It is even a favorite of some of my 15-year-old students (go figure).

Band-in-a-Box definitely meets a need, that's for sure! But... I'm not only posting a compliment to BB, I'm posting a new song I made in the time I was 'offline'.
It's called Forlorn. The link: https://soundcloud.com/user-296497130/forlorn

That title sounds nearly the same as the Dutch word 'Verloren', and they have the same meaning: you can feel forlorn if a sad event happens and you're not getting a grip on it.
This song is quite the opposite of my former song which was Metal ('We are'). But to me that's perfectly normal.

The style is HOWCOME, but I used some other instruments, e.g. the sologuitar is realtracknr. 2603, and in the DAW I worked with my keyboard as well.
I hesitated a bit about adding the backgroundchoir, so I made two versions of the song. But the majority of people who listened to these versions prefered the choirversion, so that's what you'll hear.
