Dave Bell of Blue Attitude [I always say it that way, although for most here I'd just have to say Dave] did such a terrific job on the intro, solo and fills that I slotted it 4th on a new album that comes out on Valentine's Day. That slot is important to me because of all the time I spent filling in lineup cards as a baseball coach. Fourth was always where we put the one most likely to hit a home run. This song will never be a hit, but he knocked it out of the park.

From a production standpoint, I’m sure you will all have plenty of additional suggestions on the mix and otherwise--heck, I'm not even sure I'm quite done playing with it--and so they are very welcome. In my head, I had grander designs, but my goal is always to make the song as listenable and as close to what I intended as I can, and I think this is as far and as close as I can take it for now.

So the original title for this song, right up until the last second, was Another Floyd Jane song. I was doing it as a joke for Floyd as Tater Totts to compete with him in the gut-wrenching, heartbreaking, cry your eyes out genre.

But when I got finished with EVERYTHING, I said, "No. This is not that bad. Change the title and hook to one more WHISKEY song."

Happy New Year to all my PG Music friends and collaborators!

This is an experimental song (truth be told, everything I compose is experimental and a work in progress). So comments are welcome.

Apples and Bells

Based on helpful comments on past songs I've tried to deliver a bit more "melody" especially in the verses.

This song began its life as Apples and Apples, as in a man and woman very compatible with each other. But then when searching for a voice for the intro I stumbled upon a bells/glass voice that seems to work; hence Apples and Bells.
