Hello friends

Just getting back into BIAB after many years. I recently produced an album using "Drums on demand" following refered to as "DOD". played everything else but the drums. Anyone who's heard their product would agree they are pretty awesome.

My question is has anyone experienced with DOD and the possiblity of somehow using them in BIAB?. DOD's are well organized by style of course with intro endings fills chorus verse bridges etc

Not knowing but my hunch is that could be integrated as user styles or something? Or real band which I have not even worked with yet

Never played with DOD, but Loops are supposed to be supported in both products. As usual, I'd rather do this in RealBand, but that's just me.

Yes and I should mention, DOD loops are "acidized" loops. @44.1 24 bit files. Fairly easy to work with but so require time to "build" them into a project.

I guess the dream would be to enter chords arrangements into BIAB and have the DOD used . Just laziness I guess!

Does Drums on Demand require support for VST3? BIAB does not have that yet, though it is promised to be supported this year.

No. DOD are simply sets of acidized loops in various styles. They come in folders with optimum bpm and Like I said all logically named-intro+verse etc .

I just started poking around "realband" and it crashed 3 times (bsod) all 3 times on shut down. Not a very good start! I was just checking out the signal routing (which kinda relates to another post of mine on signal routing in BIAB. Seems realband has that capability but it will have to run more than 5 minutes if a guy is to figure anything out smirk

So for sure I have the latest build then. Could be a driver conflict or something. And I do have waves plugin on this windows 7 machine which are definitely a culprit in crashing reaper from time to time...Who knows? I will keep trying as I see the potential in realband.

In RB, when you go to the screen to add plugins to a track, there is an Options button on the right side that has a path to 'Excluding' certain plugins, so you can test that theory if you want.

I've bought DOD parts a few times. I use them in Reaper though. They're pretty good but would be redundant is BIAB updated the drum "stems" sets which seem to have gone the way of VideoTracks.
I did find that, in 50% of cases, DOD had an unpleasant ping from the snare that took some effort to neutralize. That said I used BIAB elements & DOD in Reaper easily enough & with good results. Then again I only use BIAB to generate tracks so am not into using it DAW style.

Cheers

I bought a ton of DOD back in 2012-13 when they had a string of sales. Probably depends on which set as for as the "ping" you speak of.
Don't remember noticing that on the "nothing but brushes" and the "warm and natural" which are sets I am drawn to.

The funk stuff is great too.

I am getting more comfortable with the biab plugin in reaper. Haven't ventured back to realband since a string of crashes though.
