Dear Forum Friends,
Greetings. I hope everyone is doing well and having fun tonight. Here's my latest song called "Without You I am So Blue".

Song link

It's actually the third version of one of the first songs I wrote as teenager back into 70s. I was into country music then had hadn't learned to play piano yet. The original versions were written with my old friend Frank (who I wrote about in "Is This What faith Got Me?"
Two other notables about this one: This is this first time I didn't play any of the instruments in this recording and it's the first first I used an audio bus for the 4-track background vocals.
Enjoy!
Here's the BB style and RTs:

Style is _FOLKRKG.STY (Folk-Rock 12Str w/ElGt(100 RS))

Its a great thing to go back and visit early works.
This is very well done.
I like the back ground harmonies.
Pretty melody.
Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely! Plus 1 from me on Rob's comment. SD, one of your best as far as I'm concerned. You hit all the right spots. Good melody, good lyrics and story. I think you did a nice job on the backing vocals. Would have loved to heard them backing you on your outro verse of Do-Dah's.

In spite of repeating myself, one of your best to me. Great Job and thanks for posting.

Hey Spacedog,

Good to see you, a very enjoyable listen, very good vocal and production and nice chord changes.
The song is certainly up there amongst your best.

Nice one SD!! This is the best vocal and arrangement I've heard from you. Song is very nice too. BG vocals work really well as does the resonator. Great effort all around! Take care. Greg

Thanks for listening everyone. I glad you liked it.

Rob,
Thanks. I think it was the melody that convinced me to revive this one.

Charlie,
Thanks for your comments. I was thinking about adding the BGvs to the outro but thought it might get too cluttered. I'll play around with it this week and repost if it works out better. Good suggestion.

Musiclover,
Thanks for listening and your kind comments.

Greg,
Thanks. BGVs are always tough for me. I was always lead vocal or solo so I never really learned.

Alyn,
Thanks. You flatter me.

Guenter,
It's always great to hear from you. Thanks.

Floyd,
Thanks so much. It means a lot coming from you.

Unfortunately I am soooo new here and have not had much of an opportunity to listen to many submissions yet...

I will say that I am a sucker for a good arrangement, strong lyrics and a solid mix. This one has all 3 in spades.

I really like how your vocal is mixed to sit right on top of the mix without being overbearing. Just perfect in my book. Great tune, please make more...

As usual Greg got here before me and expressed my feelings better than I could myself. It all works but the vocals are standout!

Enjoyed it...a lot.

Hello SD,

we agree with all the positive comments here.
We might add that we especially like the backing vocals on this.

Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's been hanging around a long time. I guess some things are worth waiting for.
