One of the features I had hoped MIDI 2 would have is chord data. Alas, so far that is not the case.

I tried the feature, Import Chords from MIDI. It does work, but it appears to be limited to 7th chords and did not recognize any upper extensions. As such, it will not be useful in my work. However, for some genres, it may be very helpful.

I use it all the time for creation of new material and would not have noticed that limitation (to me a m7b5 chord is florid) so I'm glad someone with an intelligent musical eye looked over some of that output. Thanks.

I have tried many notation scanning programs and can highly recommend SmartScore. It reads even poorly and slanted scanned originals surprisingly well! Much less post processing than with other software!

Absolutely agree. Scan Score is doing a great job. Give it a try and keep us posted whether it has worked for you.

There are several competing products mentioned here.
I have better success scanning sheet music with ScanScore Professional, although sometimes SmartScore 64 Professional by MusiTek will come through.
If I have a PDF file, I have better success with PDFtoMusic Pro.
