I mentioned Chas and Dave in a reply to ROG's latest song, "Life is what you make it" and thought I'd post their greatest song, in my opinion, as probably many on here have never heard of them

Ain't no pleasin you

They played a gig in the pub I wrote about in my song "Hullo Mable" on 29 July 1981 when Prince Charles married Lady Diana. A right old cockney knees up!!
No technical expertise in this video!! just a good ole sing-a-long.

One thing, Alyn --

There is "technical expertise" all OVER that performance.

I think you may be trying to refer to use of modern digital editing, effects, etc. here, which were not really available yet.

But as to Technical Expertise, it is evident in the musicians, it is evident in the audio, it is evident in the camera work, in the set, the gaffer, the direction, in everything, actually, given the time it was made it is stellar enough.

Having worked behind the scenes in that kind of situation, believe me, the minutest detail missed can spell KILL.

Or, as they used to like to tell tech people back in the day, "You will never work in this town again..."

BTW - Sounds like they are overdubbing a studio cut there, my ears detect mic proximity on the vocals and there aren't any mics near enough to the singers to do that. One other clue to that are the huge Spash/Crash cymbals I'm hearing while the cymbals I'm watching never move.

But still, a great job at doing that as well, which was common to do in that era of TV production.

One more thing Mac,

I wasn't referring to the production skills of, I believe, the British Broadcasting Company, BBC. Why would I, this was a music related post on a music related site?

Alyn, This is a great song! I actually used to do my own version.....after telling the audience that it was a Chas & Dave Cockney ballad......I sang the lyrics with a full Scottish accent & slang terms!
It always went surprisingly well........but, of course, it's a great melody!
Regards,
Joe G.

Joe,
that would sound good in a Scottish accent, I used to do a version also, but sounding cockney, cos that is what i sound like, like.

Zerozero,
