I seem to have lost all references to the mobile app since the time when it first appeared way back when.

Can someone post a link to the Mobile BiaB location?

Also, does the Android version work on the Kindle Fire HD?

Thanks.

From the PG site -
"If you have a copy of Band-in-a-Box 2011 Windows, then with the Band-in-a-Box Android version you can:

Quickly transfer your existing library of songs from BB Desktop to BB Android, including chordsheets and audio (m4a). See the chordsheets and play the songs anytime on your Android, without re-connecting to BB Desktop.
Enter songs from scratch on your BB Android by typing in chord symbols to the song.
Generate audio on your BB Android for the songs by pressing play. The songs play on the Android and are stored on the Android as m4a files. This connects across your home network or the internet to your desktop version of Band-in-a-Box
Send songs from BB Android to BB Desktop."

It is available from Google Play as an App and works on all my Android devices. However - sorry PG - but it is pretty useless as you are tied to your PC as its Server. The moment you go away from it, or turn it off as you leave the house - de nada!!

Add a +1 if you agree.

The home PC as the "server" is not a big issue for me.
Unless I lose power at my house, my music studio PC is almost always powered on.

BiaB is apparently not in the Amazon App store so that might be a problem.

Try Google Play. Your kindle should get it via internet.
What's the use of a App that only works if you are in the same place as the server?

You can sit at the piano or drums and control the program. It is a 'Remote'. That's what the app is called (so far).
It's like having a wireless controller for the program so you don't have to run to the computer, hit 'record', run back to the drums or keys and try to start at the right point.

It's another tool with features, not a replacement.
I find it and the RB app handy when I want to work from in front of an instrument instead of in front of the computer keyboard.

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

I can see the use for that. Hadnt thought of it as a "remote" in the sense of switching the BB file on and off etc. I thought of it as being available when you personally were remote (i.e away) from Base - which its not.
My little rubber room is too small for it to matter, but I can think of plenty of instances when it would be useful, especially for a Drummer, wanting to control the program at arms length.

I just checked Google Play, there are three programs. BB Remote, RB Remote and Band In A Box. All require BB Server to be running.

Band in a Box appears to be just that, put the chords in, select your style, etc. The Remotes though are what I'm most interested in. My computer keyboard and my music keyboard are several feet apart, and having to sit at the music keyboard (which is my main instrument) and try to turn around, hit the space bar, or whatever, on the computer keyboard and then turn back around and get ready to go, is a pain.

However, the Remote is silly easy. Call up the song, it loads it into BIAB on the computer, displays the chords, and press Play. On my little 7" Acer Iconia A100, it's easy to see everything and to control BIAB.

Okay, I knew BIAB had a server in it for a few years, but never really looked at it. Since this go brought up, I've installed all three programs on my Acer, and will be using them. Thanks guys!

Gary

I'm blessed watching God do what He does best. I've had a few rough years, and I'm still not back to where I want to be, but I'm on the way and things are looking far better now than what they were!
