Finally have it. Decided to uninstall 64bit Reaper and try 32bit Reaper. Recognized Coyote and Sample Tank on it's own. Thought beings I had a 64bit machine I needed the 64bit Reaper ... apparently not. At least it willl work for what I plan to use it for. The End.

Danna, Wow!!!! That's great sleuthing and excellent to know. I guess that makes a bit of sense with the added perspective of hindsight. BIAB is a 32 bit program and CoyoteWT is also 32 bit. Both operate on a 64 bit operating system. So while CoyoteWT isn't friendly with Reaper 64 bit, it is happy if its host program matches its bitrate. Interesting. So are the midi files playing now? Regards, Noel

So are the midi files playing now? Yes. I can change instruments as I wanted, adjust their volumes, and save to MP3. Good to go! Thanks Noel.

Danna, if you want to run in 64 bit you might want to try a wrapper like J-Bridge: http://jstuff.wordpress.com/jbridge/Wrappers work on a lot but not all 32 bit VSTis making them compatible with 64 bit systems. I have Sampletank 2.x and a couple of other 32 bit VSTis running in Sonar with a wrapper on my 64 bit system. Just a thought.
Unclear if the pianist is a total beginner or a professional jazz player?
64 bit Win 10 Pro, the latest BiaB/RB, Roland Octa-Capture audio interface, a ton of software/hardware

Thanks for the tip Mario.
With Noel's help I just learned a little about VST's.
I was able to change instruments with Coyote ... but couldn't figure out how to use intrument's with Sample Tank.
So a wrapper, well that's over my head right now, but thanks for your input.
PS : Wrapper ... thought that was a person who sings music I don't listen to.

PS : Wrapper ... thought that was a person who sings music I don't listen to. Ha ha. (a) I don't mind a laugh, and (b) I don't listen to it either. Good one!

Danna, The difference between CoyoteWT and Sampletank is that Coyote is a 'general midi' synth. This means it has a number of preset sounds. Sampletank requires the user to set instruments for each midi channel that's used in the song. If you have a look under "Opt | Preferences | Channels" you can see which midi channels are assigned to the various BIAB tracks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mseFbwE7IaEThe above link is to a video on PG Music's Youtube site. This video has some useful information on Sampletank and BIAB. Regards, Noel
