The request for dedicated fills has generated a lot of response. I'd like to see some proper intros & endings as well. How many times have you heard a track and thought " wow, what a great start or finish "

Pretty please ?

+1. Intros can make or break a song. The old television game show, Name That Tune, was built around that simple truth. The drum fade-in on CCR's cover of Susie-Q, the piano on Chicago's Color My World, the guitar slide on everybodies version of the instrumental Pipeline, the Pink Panther Theme. Every great song I can think of starts with a great introduction.

The only downside is every intro is also unique to the notable version of each song.

+1 For all the right reasons stated above. That catchy intro can be what really gets instant attention.

I did write once a wish for real endings because some of the instruments just stop playing.

But I also dedicated intros are a great thing to enhance the overall value of the product.

I agree that the intro is a very important part of a song. However, if the realtrack styles would come with very original intros that many people use, I feel that the songs we make could become less original, because if you hear an intro you instantly recognize you think of the song where you first heard it. Most realtrack styles are a bit discrete and generic, but at the same time very good sounding, and thus the singing, words, melody etc becomes focus.

I would be interested in a variety of drum intros, which tend to be different than the fills that are generated when you add a part marker.

One way to prevent a limited number of canned drum intros from getting overused might be to create a set of intro-specific drum real tracks or super midi tracks, that would be generated differently each time, but which would always end up sounding like an intro rather than a fill.

Intro tracks could be genre specific... the drum intro that would work for a blues song may not work for a jazz or country song

these aren't all good examples of what I'd like, but they all demonstrate the indentifiable nature of drum intros: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIw_0BFXrzM

I was thinking of drum intros like ZZ Top's "Francine" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v--dFfte8rs

+1 for getting banks of Intros and Endings in different genres and tempos.
They are very important in order to get catchy arrangements.

But I admit that generating convincing unique intros will be difficult. I don't think you will have much originality here especially when it comes to RealTracks or RealDrums.

OTOH, I'd love to see more options for (genre specific) endings.
