Just upgraded to Windows 8.1 and in the Chord window I can cut (Delete)Chords but not Part Markers (with Part Marker selected in Cut options), any one know if this is a Windows 8.1 issue or a Realband general issue? I "think" I used to be able to do this? Thanks Col

In addition.... When you import a new BIAB file into Realband what ever Part Markers are in the existing Chord Window are not replaced during the import/insert process. So you end up with the new (inserted) Part Markers plus those existing in the Chord Window prior to inserting the new BIAB song.

What happens if you select 'New' from the File-Menu options before importing? Remember also, that Real Band will unfold the BiaB song if it had multiple choruses.

Thanks For the reply. Yes, I can change the part markers by creating a new file or cycling through by clicking. However, I also like to "drag" some new chords in to Realband to the existing work. I thought I used to be able to remove the Part Markers by the Cut command, rather than going through and changing 80 bars. I was just checking to see if it was related to Windows 8.1

OK, understand.
I doubt very much if it is related to the version of Windows.

I can confirm that the CUT command doesn't work for part markers. I'm also on Windows 8.1 but I'm sure that this problem isn't connected to the operating system.

Thanks ROG, I thought I could in WIN 7 but I might be mistaken. I also noticed in WIN 8.1 that the chords (Chord Window) don't always transpose, on most occasions they don't. Have you noticed this in 8.1?

I've not experienced any problems with transposing the chords. The only thing I can think of is that when you change key you need to check the box for TRANSPOSE MIDI for the chords to change, even if you don't have any MIDI tracks in the song.
Are you up-to-date with all the patches for RealBand?
ROG.

Pay attention to the popups very closely. Not sure it applies here, but many times a simple radio button or check box makes all the difference. ROG noticed this possible cause, and it is in a spot easy to miss if you just click 'OK' all the time on the pop ups.

No, using latest build (7) Doesn't transpose with any of the following checked: Transpose Midi Only Transpose Audio Only Transpose All (Midi & Audio)
Even new song, type a C chord bar 1, try and transpose to say A (any of the above methods) Still remains C at Bar 1??? Col

Won't have access to W8 machine for a few days

OK, think I've got this sorted.
Build 7 on Win 8.1
If the file is blank, that is, there is no MIDI information on any track, you don't get the question box for transpose up/down and the chords don't transpose. If you then enter a few MIDI notes you do get the question and the chords change as well.
Previously I'd only tried to simulate the problem on an existing song file so it worked ok.
It's more of a work-around than a fix but if you know what's going on it's not a big problem.
ROG.

Hi ROG, Thanks that clue sorted it out. Actually, if you have audio or Midi in the song it will transpose OK. My mistake was when prior to transposing I usually remove the tracks to save converting all the audio tracks, then I regenerate the tracks. All's well now I see what's happening, appreciate the help. Using Version 2023 (1013) 64-bit on Windows 11
Trying to get rid of a persistent part marker. I've tried everything, including "return to factory settings" and restarts, but I can't get rid of an unwanted part marker that keeps showing up in the middle of a phrase.
Sequencing through the series of part options to the "blank" marker makes it go away temporarily, but as soon as I hit a "Play" button, it reappears. I can eliminate the drum fill, of course, but how do I get rid of this bogus part marker?

Have you tried Save As after 'making it go away temporarily'? I've not experienced this so just an idea ..
