Thanks Frank. I'm finding UTs very interesting and trying a few substitutions in existing SGU's to get a feel for how they sound and how I can use them. Cheers Ian

Ian,
I can see your a late-nighter.... Great. Some of the UT's have extended variations based on chord use. Some tend to be more repetitive. Another Item we take for granted is most RT's have extended tempo ranges. Some of the UT's do, some don't. Some of the Ut's have lower UT tempo abilities. Also take note the cross-over abilities for some of the UT's. Some play nicely for 16th, some for swing, some not.
This is me talking... now. When I test these there seems to be specific styles that fit exactly. Then sometimes not a bit, wants me to leave the room.
The testing I do is for the basic chord template the wav file married to the SGU. Check out maybe 20 or so chord sounds, specifically thru the fast changing, 2 chords per measure. Do this for all 4 basic keys in the 10 minute template.
Then last night I had a really nice Harp arpeggio ascending - descending, excellent sound in template sgu. Was really tickled. Tried with some number of styles............so bad the "enunciation" or decoding of the wav with chords.. BAD, BAD. Then I quit went to bed.
Advice is always free, maybe some cases not worth that. LOL. Anyway, would recommend with the preview abilities to go down and listen to many of the UT's. Don't be concerned with trying with a song.
Then when you find what may fit your genre, go get a style you like, load the UT, test play. Maybe even with different tempo's. Do not hesitate to replace a realtrack. Is that the goal, no. But this is your very own style, using some UT's.
Keep in mind I've used up to 4 UT's in one demo. Was it good...I don't judge that. Mainly to show(demo) how sounds fit.
With your experience, bit of time, and using the UT's will open a lot more. What I'm looking forward to is a lot of PG forum folks jumping in to this.
UT's better than RT's no way. A few sound very good. But some number using VSTi's driven by chords in the arrangement can sound reasonable.
Have fun!

Ya know Seeker, we're on GMT here, 8 hours ahead of you. I use the midi based "Samcook" 12-8 Style a lot (i am REALLY old!(Lol!)and really need to replace that bad electric piano and acoustic piano specific to that Style with something that sounds "real" but nothing so far on the UTs. Think Platters, "Only You". The acoustic piano triplets are quite specific and nothing yet comes close. Waiting for PG to come with an RT is like plaiting fog!! So I'm relying on you guys. Cheers Ian
