Hi George. Welcome back. I didn't hear the first version but this one sound good. Good luck with the new daw. It can be very frustrating trying to learn something new. What Josie said! I heard it after the changes, and I thought it was pretty good!

George,
I'll second Floyd's critique and suggest also, if you recorded the solo track "dry" (i.e. clean with no amp models or effects), that you consider backing off the gain (thickness) of the overdrive some. To my ears, it sounds a bit much for the song. The solo itself sounds good in terms of the note choices played; it's just the amount of drive on the guitar tone sounds overdone. As an alternative, you could try re-recording the solo on another track with less drive and see if it sounds better to you that way.

Hi George,
You have a distinct voice that records well as it is easy to listen to. A mix is a very subjective thing but to me your voice sits too deep in the mix because the voice has too much reverb. Other than that, it sounds like you're catching on real fast to using ProTools 11.
