Hey Lawrence,

Thanks for listening. That guitar panned hard right is an acoustic 12 string. Unfortunately, I panned it a bit too hard - I find it annoying (as others probably do as well. grin) Hope all is well with you.

Bob

Hello Bob,

This is simply beautiful! Well sung and very well arranged.
We love the string quartet solo part and the Angel like backings.

Rob & Anne-Marie,

Thanks for listening and the kind remarks. Credit for the violin solo goes to BIAB - all I did was add some counterpoint strings.
Got to love this program!

Nice work. I enjoy your songs.

It has a Bruce Springsteen vibe to the vocals.... (huge compliment)...and for that matter, overall as well.

Brings to mind one of my favorite songs of all time "White Bird". Ditto to all that was said, I enjoyed it also. Great production and writing.

I like it!

As others have mentioned, you've got some great lines in there.

I hesitate to mention it, but there's a glitch at 3:29 where the strings suddenly cut out for a moment.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

David,

Thanks for listening, and so critically. grin

Actually, that's not a glitch. wink I pulled the strings there to bring the choir up, but I can hear that as a glitch too. It's too darned abrupt.
I'm surprised you didn't catch the warbling flutter in the piano track at the very beginning! laugh

Bob

I did, but I figured you already knew about that flutter.... likely key transposing artifacts. I often will attempt to render the track a few times to see if it does anything different.

I knew someone would hear it! (everyone probably did, but were too kind to mention it). I know - it's glaring. Problem was, a while ago I "backed up" a ton of files, and now I can't even find the original BIAB files! grin

I've found that some of the solo piano tracks have artifacts, even without transposing. I ain't complaining. I can't play piano that well. wink

Bob

Wow.

What a song, sounds great loud! Really evocative with the strings
Wonderful lyrics
The vocals awash with 'verb works well for this song

enjoyed a lot

Bob... you probably know this but.... in case you don't...

If it's possible to select a real track that is in the key of your song, that tends to sound better without artifacts from transposing. You simply go to the real track folder, and listen to determine the key.

To my ears, exposed RealTrack pianos are generally unusable, mostly because the transitions stick out like a sore thumb. It's really a shame, because there's some really awesome RTs. Add some drums, and you can generally hide the artifacts.

But where there's solo piano, MIDI is generally the best option.

Fortunately, people like you don't let minor stuff like that get in the way of creating good music. laugh
