Correct me if I'm wrong, but as things stand now, you get drum fills on the last bar before a part marker - every time, whether you like it or not.
Likewise, as it stands, this is the only way to get drum fills - whether you like it or not.

Surely this can be changed to something more "user's choice" friendly smirk

Eddie,

What change(s) do you propose to select drum fills?

Something like ctrl-click (right-click) on a bar and you see "Insert/remove fill", so that it is a truly "per-case" choice of the user. Just one way off the top of my head. I confess I haven't really thought through any concrete ways of implementation, just the concept/premise of the idea.

The idea is certainly worthy of consideration. Perhaps it could be done through a new feature in the Bar Settings window (F5)

Hi,

There is an option to 'allow drum fill before this part marker(normal) which can be de-selected.

Would this help?

Could you provide a direction for where this option is located in the program? I can't recall ever seeing such settings on my Mac version, which makes me wonder if this is a platform specific thing (i.e. yet another 'only on pc') smirk

If part marker is the same color it will not place a drum fill. I use this when I want to have a visual clue where a song part starts or ends, but I don't want a drum fill.

Right click on the part marker. It shows up there.

Interesting, for that is absolutely not how it works on mine. Strange, shall have to test this one more, ty.

Very good, I'll look out for this one for sure. If this holds up on my end, then I'd pretty much say my 'request' was already there! grin

I disagree that the second part marker of the same type will not make a fill; it does.

The feature to not have a fill at a part marker may well be a PC version only feature at this time. Try it and let us know.

Even so, your request (at least on a PC) is still only half met. You can disable a fill at a part marker, but you cannot yet enable a fill where there is no part marker. That's a good request, one that we have made before.

I've had a better look based on feedback here this far, and the "click on a part marker..." dialogue is indeed included in the Mac version too (2015, it was absolutely not there prior).

But, as Mr. Finley rightly pointed out, that's still only halfway there, so this request still stands firm.

+ 1 for the idea of a new feature in the Bar Settings window (F5)

Note also that the new feature would apply both for RealDrums AND MIDI drums.

Have a "drum fill" icon in a tool bar that opens a window to set parameters on how you want the fill;
For example:
A) In one bar, give the choice of full bar fill, 1/2 bar fill, 1/4 bar fill.
B) Toms only (Or any other drum part) and/or combination of drum parts (Hi/Mid/Low/snare/Kick/cymbals)

The advantage would be for example: you have 4 bars of the drums using only the Kick snare/Low tom with a splash of some cymbals)

There should also be a drum fills manager window, to setup regulate the round robin repeats (On a per song bases). So if you have 6 fills, you select only the ones you want to use and also could set the one you specifically want on a specific bar.

This is a nine-year old thread. I’m not sure if this was addressed?
