First post and a BIAB user for 5 days now. I had settled in for the long haul starting to enter songs, chords from my Fake book. I play Tenor Sax and I was having no difficulty navigating the program. I then stumbled on a user index of songs already prepared for BIAB http://bob.bmcadvies.com/biab/ a vast collection of songs and the work was already done. I compared the songs keys to what I have in the fake book for Bb, changing the keys of these files using the BIAB files on my computer. They dont play correct at all. For example the Blueberry Hill file is in F and in my fake book it has 1 flat so I changed key to G which shows correct in my fake book and yet it does not match the BIAB file that I also changed to G. Must be something I have overlooked.

Welcome to the forum.
It sounds like you used the Bb fakebook to determine the key for BIAB. Change the key instead as if you were using a C fakebook. For example, if your Bb fakebook says it's in F, then it's really in Eb concert. You should have chosen Eb not G. Then go to Preferences, Notation. You will see a Transpose pull-down. Select tenor sax, soprano sax or trumpet - any Bb instrument. That will change the notation up a step without changing pitch, so the song plays in Eb but you are reading in F and can play along on your tenor.
If that's not it, and there are a few other possibilities, then write back and give us precise details of the steps you tried.

Welcome to the forum.
Thanx for posting that web site. There are a lot of songs there!
Unclear if the pianist is a total beginner or a professional jazz player?

Thanks so much that fixed it. Now for the notation on these songs can I have the notation showing for my Tenor ? Not a big issue as I could just use my Fake Book for the songs. This data base has many songs not in my book and the notation is already done.

BIAB does indeed visually transpose. If you click on the button I've highlighted below, you find many options. These work for both chords and notation. You'll find one that does the job. (There's also a custom option at the bottom of the list.) All the best, Noel

I had no problem changing the key from Concert to key for my Tenor and enabling the +14 transpose. Can I now change just the notation back to the key as in my Fake-book ?

Yes you will be able to. Because I'm not fully understanding your problem, I can't give explicit directions. The "Custom" option that I mention in my above post will most likely be what you need to use to adjust the key.
If you need to change the key completely, then the "Key" box to the left of the tempo setting will do this.

When the key is changed from concert key to the Bb I can play the notation either from my Fake book or the notation on BIAB. As soon as I set the transpose for +14 Tenor Sax it changes the notation. I could just play from the Fake book or go back and print the transposed Concert to Bb notation before adding the +14. I want to eliminate the music stand and just play from my Laptop screen. Hope this clears up what I am looking for.

I play instruments pitched in C, Eb, F, G, A and Bb. The best advice I can give you is, always work from concert pitch. Convert your fakebook to concert pitch. Adjust the transposition in BIAB from concert pitch.
