Lyrics:
Ridin´those foamtops (Music and Words by Norman Wibe)
Gonna pack my things gonna fly away what tomorrow brings I will gladly pay if you´ll be surfin´ along you´ll be makin´me strong ooooo…..lovin´you more each day here´s where we wanna flee and always to stay
A beach so white awaits us there in the bright sunlight we are here to share the love and compassion of surfin´with passion ooooo…..lovin´you more each day here´s where we wanna flee and always to stay
Ridin´on those foamtops makes you feel you´re on the top of the world
When the day is done and we´re turnin home at the vaning sun a mouthful of foam and a smile in your eye tells me it´s hello not goodbye ooooo…..lovin´you more each day here´s where we wanna flee and always to stay
Ridin´on those foamtops makes you feel you´re on the top of the world, top of the world !!!
Dani, you came back with a splash and a Beach Boyish sound.
This is good. In spots I thought that the harmonies were fitting but in other spots I'm not so sure. It might be just me but as I listened I thought this might be better if he had sang it in a lower key. This is just my opinion and others may or may not agree.
Either way like I said this is a good song.
Today I bought a doughnut without the sprinkles. Diets are hard!

We were watching a documentary about Brian Wilson a couple of weeks ago, of course a lot of Beach Boys music in it. And we have to say.... this one would've fit right in! Nuff said we think ;-)

Hi Dani, I enjoyed the feeling of the song - you captured the Surf`s Up mood very well. You sing well in the upper register and the harmonies work beautifully, particularly the held notes at the end.
Dani, You've hit the mark again with those Beach Boys harmonies. I really liked the unusual chord sequence in the chorus and nice job on the modulations. Enjoyed my listen. Tom
I think you might have to put out an album soon... "Surf's Up In Helsinki!"
Another fun listen. Those walkdowns are really catchy...

I had the same thought!! You've been riding on an endless summer surfing safari. Really great stuff-love the melody and the harmonies. Awesome!! Take care. Greg
I have surfed since the age of nine, living in a surf crazy Cape Town, though very much less today, life and fading muscles have caught up with me What most people don’t understand is that surfing is a life style almost more than a sport The fact that someone in Helsinki can post a surfing song ala Beach boys on the forum is amazing and it warmed the cockles of my heart this morning. Good show Dani
good to hear your latest surf rock tune! I noticed immediately that you attributed the music and lyrics to someone else:

... is he a friend? Collaborator? How does somebody go about the task of recording somebody else's song? Did you pay to license it? (enquiring minds want to know) ;-)
It blows my mind listening to your songs , hearing those lush harmonies, knowing that you are doing it without the help of a vocal processor! When I play Beach Boys songs live I always have to use a harmonizer, and even then it doesn't sound this good!
I agree with Mario that most surf songs includes a fairly even mix of high register singing and the usual bass, tenor etc, and this song was a bit unique in the fact that all of the parts are high register vocals. But, I'm not a guy who believes that song paradigms need to be treated like nobody can ever deviate from what has been done in the past. I figure if you can handle all those parts.. go for it! (I'm more of a tenor who squeaks up into the higher registers briefly, then back down to my comfort zone)
If the photo beside your song is you and Li.. I must say, you look like a good match! Beautiful lady! I'm glad you found one another!
I've mentioned it before but EVERY time you post one of these songs I get lost in memories of driving around in a VW bug with my board on top.
Brian Wilson is an American treasure and a genius. Your compositions are amazingly reminiscent of that time and the two of us really enjoy them!
