Hi all I'm using windows 10 on a surface Pro and in general love it.

I have a question that hopefully somebody here can answer.

As I mouse around the screen, the entire window will redraw and the window I was looking at is gone. I guess the idea is that I've mouse moved onto a new application's window, and that I'd want to see that whole applications window overdraw the one I previously looked at.

I'd prefer the previous windows behavior which is that you would need to mouse click on a new window to see it not just mouse move .

Do others experience this and is there way to change this behavior ?

OK....
I'm parsecs away from being a diagnostic genius but that sounds like an annoying mouse setting to me.

Go to "settings" in Win10. (it's not like the old 'control panel in Win7)
EDIT: pathway: start menu/all apps/settings/devices/mouse-touchpad.
Select the 'mouse and touch pad'.
There is a toggle switch with caption:
"scroll inactive windows when I hover over them"...see if a change there does anything.

I'm on a Dell laptop with Win10 and mine is set to "ON".
I do NOT have that issue your are experiencing.

Hope that helps....carry on.

Thanks, that setting was on, and I've turned it off.
That seems to have done the trick and it's fixed!

Glad to hear that Peter.
It's a great day when a computer PMO is solved.
Think I'll have a very smooth Brandy and revel in your success.

A good day to all....

Now that's pretty cool.
PGMusic decides to start a Tech SOS section on their forum. The owner has a OS problem so he utilizes it, and finds the solution in about half an hour from a helpful member.

Yes, Moten Music is really helpful, he has a whole series about making music with a Surface Pro. Also Peter, the Surface along with Win 10 are optimized for use with the touchscreen. I would try to use that as much as possible and forget the mouse but of course some programs <cough> are not touch capable...
