reading through the comments people have made in response to this song and Floyd's, I think we need a separate thread for 70's survivor tales. There seems to be a large untapped pool of material.... ;-)

Thanks Pat,
Great times and I loved the story from floyd about you two being in the same place at the same time, and 40 years ago, amazingly small world.

Alyn,

That was great! You've got a wonderful knack for story telling and for fitting it to music. floyd's right. There's definitely a freedom in your writing that makes your songs special. No-one does it like you do! (I mean that as huge compliment.)

All the best,
Noel

Holy $#%*@$, this is so good. I think floyd mentioned the freedom in your writing and, man, does it shine here.
Your cool vocal just carries the song so well.

And then the band. We sound like the proverbial broken record here but your remarkable use of disparate RT's is second
to none. We love to flip through the RT's and cherry pick tracks sans styles...but you own this methodology.

This is awesome...a word we try to avoid until something is, well, awesome.

Thanks for sharing!

Nice work Alyn, the lyrics and strong backbeat rhythm make for a hypnotic saga! And the 'dangly'ending makes total sense! Good stuff.

Cheers Noel, Paddy suggested I was a raconteur and I LOVE that description, IN my non-musical life I always told stories, over a beer of 3, of the funny things that always seemed to happen to me. Suppose I learnt from my Dad who could talk a hind leg of a pot.

Thank you for the GINORMOUS compliment blush

I look forward to, and learn from, YOUR next masterpiece

take care down under

Alyn,

Such a cool song and another great production number. You really have such an original sound - no one has your touch & feel for this kind of music. Loved it!

Sweet poppin' tune! I love you instrument choices especially the resophonic guitar.

And what's up with that outro? Is that acoustic guitar ending in a different key? I has a very sort of mysterious and compelling vibe to it.

I listened to it again. It's that Celtic acoustic and he hits some kind of augmented chord - wonderful.

Lawrence,
It took a while to decide on those RTs and the Celtic acoustic did all the right/wrong(?) things and the ending was perfect, almost as if he wasn't paying attention, or didn't really want to be there LOL

glad you enjoyed the vibe, man.

Had me thinking of the Quo - lyrically and musically.
Hope you take this as it is intended Alyn - a compliment.
