Great fan of PGMusic! I work extensively with the Jazz RealPAKS
It seems the only style of realDrums and RealTracks left to add
to the wonderful world of Real Sets are Motown and Soul Music.
I long for the day I can start performing and recording with these.
Any news as to when we may expect to see this dream become a reality?
Would love to hear shared thoughts from other PG Music users!

Amen to that!

Style disk 40 has some brilliant Midi R&B styles covering the Motown/Stax Genre but it would be so much better to have these available in Realtrack format.

Some Realstyles like the contsruction kits in this forthcoming loop library from Big Fish Audio would be AWESOME!

Didn't know about the upcoming DETROIT SOUL from Big Fish Audio/ Thxs for the heads up.

For drums only there are two Motown drum sets available - BFA do one and also Sonic Reality do another. I've been trying to get the time to see if I can convert those loops into a Real Drums style - but sadly I am snowed under at the moment.

Some soul real tracks would be stupendous!

Having been a singer in a group through the 60s and 70s and having also used backingtracks on stage for about 20 years the one thing that had to stand out (for me anyhow)was a punchy drum bass pedal and a bass with the same feel and punch.Listening to a few demos from bigfish through my PA system in the studio I felt it lacked this and seemed to concentrate in having the the brass instruments and guitars more up front in the mix. There are excellent backingtrack companies out there like selectatrack and Karaoke Version who do a great job with this and many other styles in my humble opinion but then again everyone to his own.Frankie

Hi Tributeman,
Having just re-listened to the bigfish demo I can see what you mean about the emphasis on the horns and guitars rather than the bass/kick. I was really citing them for the sort of genre & styles that they cover rather than their production quality (although I think that the quality is pretty good).

I have tried working with loop libraries like this in the past for original composition work and I have found them very inflexible and difficult to bend to what I want. BIAB + Realtracks is soooo much easier but they don't yet have the same range of realstyles as they do midi styles (Motown being a case in point).

Still the realtracks libraries are growing all the time and I wait in hope...

Regards, Aubrey
