Hey Y'all,
I'm wanting to get my feet back in the music water and a little break from doing all my own stuff - especially a break from mixing.
So I'm hoping someone on here will want to do a collab with me for fun. I'm open to a co-write with your idea or I can just sing lead and/or harmony on your song. I do most genres (link to my songs on SC is in my sig). Only caveat - I don't want to do the mix - mixing the finished song will be up to you. smile Otherwise I'm easy.
Soooo if anybody is interested in a collab with me for fun - shoot me a PM with what you want me to do and we'll go from there!
Josie
(Thinking after I wrote this "oh my goodness, now if nobody PM's me I'm gonna feel totally weird ....but I'll get over it.... so no pressure. grin)

This is what this forum needs more of.

It's a great offer, Josie. I'm sure you'll find a lot of interest.
My question regards technique.
(1) Now, I have heard the pro studios do a lot of remote and on site collaboration. In their cases, they probably all use Pro Tools and Media Composer, making it a relatively simple matter to collaborate on tracks. For a while, Adobe was building all kinds of collaboration software which, my guess is, applied to the coming Cloud.
(2) What is being requested could be as simple a matter as posting or mailing a backing track, which Josie would use to produce a vocal and guitar track.
Mind you, I am not asking these questions because I think I know something. To the contrary, I am wondering how this works. Do the work stations have be the same? Can you just play a BAIB WAV through earphones and sing along with it and expect the original owner to get it to sound right?
----
(As an anecdote, I once knew a steel guitar player who would learn songs by playing along with a CD track. I wish I had recorded some of them, because they would blow your mind.)
What's the plan?

Josie,

I'm really looking forward to seeing where this road takes you!

I'm not the best mixer on the forum but if you ever you need someone to help out, I'm always happy to do what I can if time permits.

All the best,
Noel

Ms. Josie:

We should be thanking you for "hanging out the shingle" that invites us to mingle in a way that makes us all tingle!

Sincerely,

LOREN

Josie, I would certainly like to hear those collaborations. I suspect there's enough talent here to turn out some great songs. Please keep us posted as you progress....

I'm game. I'm active on ProCollabs.com and kompoz.com offering music and vocals for lyricists mostly.

Songs include: https://www.procollabs.com/store/847
or https://www.soundblend.com/store/release/749416 (Soundblend is where Kompoz songs are sold)

The collaboration sites are free to join, offer some added value for small subscriptions and generally help me find talent, ideas, and community. Not specific to BIAB or any technology or genre.

Perhaps I'll see you there?

You're welcome Brad.

@Adam - thank you Adam for the invite, but there's so much talent on this forum that there's really no need to look elsewhere right now.

Josie,

I'd love to collab with you. I can probably do a BIAB melody if you'll specify genre, tempo, and style. I can probably get us airplay on streaming stations that are playing my stuff but the queue is long, several weeks.

I would donate my parts so there would not be a conflict of rights at some future time.

PM me.

Donny
