Morning folks.
Here’s a new song, spurred on by my cousin Mike who wrote a song about Amethyst, here’s mine about Connolite!
Used one of the folk/country realtracks with me playing the rest.

Nice work on this one, Riccled smile There's some really interesting lyrics in this one. I really enjoyed the instrumental breaks in this one between verses. They have a lot of character and really help the song transitioned nicely.

Great job, and thanks for sharing!

This was an interesting choice of inspiration for your song. Did you look up the meaning for the stone before you made the song and factor that in to your song lyrics?

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Great choice of instruments. Maybe the music could come to the front a little more.

I was definitely charmed by this one. My new favorite quote by me ... "If you can write a song about Connolite, what can't you write a song about?" Good job.

What a great idea for a song!
I'm a big believer in doing things out-of-the-ordinary like this; I think that, for a songwriter, these kinds of 'personal challenges' really help expand the skill-set, sharpen all the tools, etc.

And you turned me onto a new mineral that I never heard of before!

I liked the vocal ohhh's, also the instrumental bridges between the verses.
You should post the lyrics!!

Hi guys, here’s the lyrics for Connolite.

Connelite . (Rock pop medium lively Dm etc).

Verse 1.
Deep beneath the earth it lies
Hiding out of sight
Forming through eternity
Yet to see the light.

Verse 2.
Aeons of time passing by
Hidden from the burning sky
Coloured pigments up to try
Discovered by the man that’s high.

Chorus.
It’s Connelite my friend
The stone that bucks the trend
It’s Connelite my friend
To search for it I Intend.

(16 bar middle 8 do f B.B. gm etc)

Verse 3.
Digging in the pitch black night
Searching for its blue ish light
Scrabbling down in the muck
Still not having much luck.

Verse 4.
Suddenly it’s there in view
I just don’t know what to do
RIP it out of this Mother Earth
To bring it up,to it’s rebirth.

Chorus.

Coda.
Connelite my friend
To get it I intend
Connelite my friend.

(Riccledy March 2018).

Hello Rick,

Another really good tune from you. Love the diversity in your music. The background music reminded me of Willie Nelson and Dylan. Your vocal gave it it's own sound. Good one!

What's that sound at 4 seconds? Quite distracting.
I like the solo - cute.
