Y'all know I HAD to write this one.

It's a tongue-in-cheek look at the recent discussion on bumping posts.....

Quick write and even faster recording session.

Texas Blues style
Bass: 1717
Drums: blues rock something or other
Guitars: 1718, 1719, 1722 (Sol & Brent)
B3:674

POST BUMPING BLUES

References to persons real or fictional are intentional. Names were omitted to protect the guilty.

Put on some cans, and crank this baby up!!

Now.... to bump or not to bump...... hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Ahhh the lyrics.... almost forgot.

Post bumping blues

Just wrote a new song that everyone needs to hear
I'm begging everybody come lend me your ear.
Listen once or twenty times I really just don't care
Just leave a comment, and please feel free to share
Everybody needs to post to keep me up on top,
Last damn thing I need today is one more flop.
Ohhhhhh oh I got the Post Bumping blues

It's been an hour now and only three new views,
What are you waiting for, the nightly TV news?
I got no time today to play this childish game
Tomorrow's likely gonna be the same
Two more posts today and I can get it done
Come on people, I need to have my fun
Ohhhhhh oh I got the Post Bumping blues

Ohhhhhh oh I got the Post Bumping blues
Ohhhhhh oh I got the Post Bumping blues
Let me throw this out, there really ain't no doubt,
I wanna scream... Might even pull my own hair out.
Ohhhhhh oh I got the Post Bumping blues

My palms are getting sweaty and my eyes are growing dim,
It's hard to recall just where the hell I've been
Have I replied to one or maybe two?
It could be her, or it could be you
My song keeps sliding to the bottom of the page,
Got to give it one more shot and bump it up today
Ohhhhhh oh I got the Post Bumping blues

Ohhhhhh oh I got the Post Bumping blues
Ohhhhhh oh I got the Post Bumping blues
Don't wanna mention no names that might ruin the game
It's got a different title man but it sounds the same
Ohhhhhh oh I got the Post Bumping blues
Ohhhhhh oh I got the Post Bumping blues
Just one more time now...
Ohhhhhh oh I got the Post Bumping blues

ok I'm done I'm out..
oh wait, somebody else just posted....ha!
bump that sucker one more time
hahahaha

My comment is that most of the above is somewhat true.....

You kids and your vernacular. When I was a kid "bumping" meant something different.

So, what is this post you are referring to? Haven't seen it. shocked

Seriously though, creative, well performed, and fast turn around. Maybe you are talking about the same kind of "bump" I'm thinking of? wink

THAT'S funny!

This is, in fact, some of your best work. A "freer" write - a good Rock Blues lyric. A "freer" vocal. You've got the drums sounding good. And those vocals sit where they should. A good mix. (nice brick, btw - good and loud as it should be)

A good listen (other than the fact you are mocking many of the people who keep this forum going).

Hrm.... This is actually quite good. Could be you need to spend less time on songs. smile

Can't wait until someone finds this in 2025 and it hits the top of the page again. (Which entirely by coincidence is the number of posts I've done to date).

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

So.... group reply.... I ain't got time to bump every reply.... although I really am tempted just because of the title of the song.... I mean come on...right?

"Loved it....Well done...Best yet..... surpassed yourself....excellent....Quite good....Great job...." To everyone who listened and cracked a smile...... cause you know it's true.....THANK YOU ALL!!!

I have to reply to this:

Quote:
A good listen (other than the fact you are mocking many of the people who keep this forum going).

Bwahahahahaha... now THAT's funny. First, I'm glad you thought it was a good listen. Nope, you got the second part wrong.... I have to disagree about the mocking part. If anyone was being mocked in this song, it was ME. Heck, I picked up the techniques on post bumping from..... well, I'll just leave that one blank.... perhaps you can figure it out. But first and foremost I was drawing from personal experience. I stand guilty as charged to bumping posts.... well, maybe not "bumping" because I have a personal rule that I only reply to a post if someone else has commented. No gratuitous bumping, as a rule. But yup... I have done individual replies to many...and I think many here do as well. Anyway.... this has been hashed to death in the other thread.... this is about the song and the song is about me.....with a bit of artistic license thrown in for good measure to make it interesting. However,as they say... if you think the shoe fits..... feel totally free to wear it.

Again... it's all in good faith and mutual respect for the people in this forum. I would not want to think that I was offending anyone with this song or this thread..... hopefully, everyone understands that and we can simply enjoy a cool song written solely for fun and entertainment.

OK.... I'm done for tonight.... maybe.

In my best Three Stooges voice "Hey, I resemble that remark"!

This is hilarious! This is super blues (you should do more blues by the way), vocal and lyrics. I'll bet you had a lot of fun doing this didn't you.

PS - I just bumped your song now you have to bump mine grin grin grin grin
