Hello Gang:

Here's my latest concoction built with BIAB and Plogue Sforzando entitled: "The Look In Your Eyes."

Give a listen if you're interested. This is a new direction for me, I hope you like it!

Thanks,
Dave

Nice work on this! Definitely a bit different for you, I can tell - but you did a really nice job. It sounds really emotion, and both your vocals and the backing tracks have a serene quality to them. Nicely catchy as well smile

Thanks for sharing!

Hey Deryk!

Thanks for your listen. I have to take time off from this song to hear things that need fixing. I'm not use to the vocals, but I wanted to try something new. I'll tighten them up in the next few days, but all around I really like this song!

Thanks again!

All the best,
Dave

I'm not sure I'd call the opening strings ambient/calm/serene they suggest tension to me.
The 2nd section - after the silence - the plosives on the 1st syllable need addressing and I'm not sure that the timing between vocal and strings works.
Vocally you've done a cool job but there a few spots that do need tuning eitehr by retracking or through technology.
I think you played the silence/pause card too often - it started to create and meet expectations.
I think it's a cool idea and will be ace with some fine tuning.

Cheers

I'm sure about one thing: There are no perfect songs or perfect mixes. If there were, everyone would love every song, ever written by anyone!

If I change this song to meet your criteria, it's no longer my song, it's yours.

I have a few things that I want to correct but I like my concept better than yours!

Thanks for your input.

All the best,
Dave

No problem Mr Brooks.
I took my cue from "...I have to take time off from this song to hear things that need fixing. I'm not use to the vocals, but I wanted to try something new. I'll tighten them up in the next few days,..."
I call them as I hear them and try to help as I'm, clearly, not good at schmoozing.

Cheers

Hi rayc:

Not an issue... To each his own. Can you imagine all music sounding the same??? Anywho, I've made a few of the corrections I wanted to make and resubmitted the song. I also know that, in a few days, weeks months, or years, I will add or delete something from it like I do with all my songs!!!

Again, thanks a lot for your input!
Dave

Zup beatmaster?

Thanks for the listen! This tune needs a bit more polish but I can see it's potential from here! I'm happy that you enjoyed the "Ying and Yang" of the vocals v. the strings! I think it gives the song an attention quality that keeps one wondering; "what's next??"

As usual, there are a few syncing issues, but I'll work them out!

Again, thanks for your kind words!!!

All the best,
Dave
