Love You More

This is my first finished song completely done, except the piano lead, in BIAB 2018 for the Mac.

The style is the Atmosphere Rock Ballad:
Bass= 1592 Bass Electric
Guitar 1= 1003 Guitar, 12-String Acoustic
Drums = RealDrums Country even
Guitar 2=1598 Electric
Pedal Steel= 2542 Pedal Steel

All of this was dropped into Logic Pro X as WAV files and then I added the piano lead which is the standard Steinway piano in Logic. I wrote lyrics in an app called Songwriter companion and sent the lyrics and a bounced track of the song in mp3 format to the singer who created 3 wav parts--main song, harmony and she did some additional ad libs.

This is a song that I got inspiration from a wife/mother who lost her husband too young. She mentioned in a text to me that she loved him more , not less, since he’s been gone and I thought that was a great line in the chorus. The video slide show helps set the mood of the story https://youtu.be/bKtgsrghYaM

I love BIAB. Been using it for 25 plus years and still get excited about what I am able to do with it. Feedback appreciated.

Per requests-- following are the lyrics

LOVE YOU MORE

(Verse)
I always dreamed I always knew
That I would meet a man like you
When the stars aligned just right

My wish came true one sweet day
When your green eyes looked my way
You were that missing piece of the puzzle in my life

Like in my dream, we said “I do”
The very next thing we knew
Two lovely babies have made us a family

(Pre-chorus)
But joy came to an end too soon
The day i got the news that tore my heart in two

(Chorus)
Even though you went away
And we miss you every day
We had to find the strength
To carry on
Even though you’re no longer here
In our hearts you’re always near
And we love you more, not less
Since you’ve been gone

(Verse)
You should see the kids right now
They both act just like you somehow
You’d be so proud of all that they have done

(Pre-chorus)
And every once in awhile
I catch them smile the way you used to smile

(Chorus)
Even though you went away
And we miss you every day
We had to find the strength
To carry on
Even though you’re no longer here
In our hearts you’re always near
And we love you more, not less
Since you’ve been gone

(Bridge — Piano Solo— ad lib vocals)
More not less

Chorus)
Even though you went away
And we miss you every day
We had to find the strength
To carry on
Even though you’re no longer here
In our hearts you’re always near
And we love you more, not less
Since you’ve been gone

(Ending)

We love you more since
you’ve been gone

Bob,
very nice work. Well performed and produced. Everything sounds very professional. A good tribute and a way to remember somebody dear.

P.S. My childhood friend passed away a few years back, who introduced me to playing music in my teen years. When I write songs, I often think of him. He was in his thirties and left two young children behind.

Kind regards,
Misha.

Thanks Misha. Typically I only write music. The lyrics were so easy for this song because I just remembered him as you said.

It's a sweet melody for a bitter sweet story.
The arrangement fits it like a glove.

Cheers

Bob, great work, and a message so tenderly and dir curly delivered...you can tell that it is heartfelt and true-to-life.

Excellent management of the BIAB resources...I especially liked how you handled the emphasis points with a prominent guitar strum, cymbal crash, etc...positioned just right at verse beginnings, etc.

Thanks for posting your creative work, and I’m looking forward to hearing more!

Thanks Tano,

Sometimes it is amazing how the concept of FLOW just takes over. I have struggled for years to finish a lot of my pieces and never really liked loved how they came together. This one was the shortest times I ever worked on a piece and I think one of the better ones.

I love BIAB and what is able to do for me in the creative process. I need to use it more and I am developing new workflows to accommodate it.

Hi Bob,

that's a very gentle song, really nice melody, good lyrics and so nicely sung by Mella who has not only a great voice, but sings it very empathetically. A very nice listen! And the video also reflects the lyrics very well.

Cheers,

Stefan

Bob,
A fine first song to post here.
Sincere sentiments and a good melody. Vocals are terrific and your production on the money.
Welcome!
