I am trying to make a backing track of Bruce Hornsby's 'Till The Dreaming's Done' and I can't get the chords to change quickly enough. I have a choice of 4 beats in the measure, and in the first beat is a C chord. The second beat is a G chord, and an eighth push is too slow a change, along with the sixteenth push. Quicker, but still too slow. How can I obtain a 1/32 push, or a push faster than the sixteenth push?

Hi,
BIAB does not do 1/32nd pushes. The only options are 1/8th or 1/16th.
If you generated the song in realband, it would be possible to move sections of the generated track to get the effect you want but it would need to be done manually.
Alternatively, if the style you are using is MIDI-based and not Realtrack-based, it would be possible to use "Edit | Slide tracks" to humanise playback by shifting tracks time-wise forward or back (positive values move one way and negative values move the other way). If you want to play with this and with MIDI styles, a 1/32 note shift would be +/-30 ticks.
Regards, Noel

I have some EXPANDED styles that convert two BiaB cells into one measure. You can get up to 8 chords per 4/4 bar and pushes up to a 32nd note. To listen to some go to http://www.nortonmusic.com/styledemo.html and look for styles with EXPANDED in a blue typeface in the description. Notes

Hi Noel, can you point me to info on creating a song in RealBand? I did a search and came up empty. How do you create a song in RealBand?

Noel might be making a tutorial as I type, but you can open the saved SGU in RealBand then copy and paste track section or ctrl+alt wil copy the section, ctrl+shift will move the section, you can enable snapping to get it on the beat or disable snap to move manually.
Not sure if I tried expanding the chords by 2 (Edit>SongForm) set the tempo double then using halftime RealTracks and RealDrums to give more chord changes ???

Pipeline's advice is what I was thinking when I replied to you. Using the new grid that Realband has, which goes down to 32nd notes, all that you'd need to do is to copy and move the chord that you wanted back a 32nd note using snap to grid -- this will create a 1/32nd push. What I normally do is to create my SGU/MGU in BIAB and then open it in Realband when I want to perform tasks that challenge BIAB. If you go to the link below, it will open some tutorial files using Realband. These were recorded with RB 2014 but the remains the same today. Have a look at these and see if they help get you started. https://www.pgmusic.com/videos.realband.htmSome points relevant to RB 2019 that might help... 1. The grid is accessed by right-clicking on any track and down the bottom of the pop-up menu is a "Grid" option. 2. Snapping feature that aligns events with gridlines is found directly below the window that shows the style being used. It's called "Snap to beat". 3. If you left-click on the any track and then roll the mouse scroll, it will expand/diminish the track view. Expanding the view makes aligning events with the grid much easier. Please don't hesitate to ask more questions. We'll get you going! Regards, Noel
