Very nice Andy! A great song, vocal and resonator performance! You did a great job recording it! Good to see a song of yours posted! I may have missed some along the way though! Thanks, Torrey

Love that resonator and the processing on it is perfect - crisp and clear and big.
Great job on the whole production.

Andy, nice song and a good arrangement. The vocal is a bit distant - is it the same reverb as the rest? I find matching the BIAB reverb far too difficult so work with dry RT renders. When you write "Mastered" do you mean professionally done by an M.E. or using a "mastering plug or your own blend of EQ, reverb, compression and limiting?

Great work on this. I liked the reso and the vocals were very good, but whatever processing you used on vox gave them a buzzy sound, not flattering at all. At least that's how it sounds through my gear. But I can tell you have a real good voice. I have a lot of plugins and often I do more harm than good. It's worth remixing IMO. Looking forward to hearing more from you.

Andy,
A sweet tune, just easy on the ears, an engaging and heartfelt love song. A really nice listen. Good stuff!
My kind regards,
Deej

Andy, Very pleasant tune! Nice guitar playing and vocals! I enjoyed it.
P.S. Vocals seem somewhat distorted. I think it might be related of how you import your tune to soundcloud. Soundcloud seem to shave off a lot of sound character if you upload MP3... There was a discussion on the forum about that, unfortunately I do not remember exact name of the thread, but the main point was to upload songs as a WAV files at high resolution, so damage by soundcloud is not that obvious.
Thank you for sharing!
Misha.

As I noted previously... Nicely written tune... Good vocals & production... Interesting harmonies towards the end of the song... Good job! Now I'd like to add... Thanks for adding the lyrics... They help me concentrate on your tune (my bad) ... I also enjoyed going back & listening & watching some of your numerous songs & videos. Thanks!

Really nice work on this one! It flows really well, and I love the upbeat vibe to it. Really nice chord progressions and your vocals are top notch also. Thanks for sharing

Thanks Torrey. It's the first song I've posted on here since last year. I don't use BIAB that often as I usually need only sparse accompaniment for many of my recordings and performances, and I prefer to provide all of the instrumentation myself, but BIAB certainly comes in handy as a songwriting tool and for the RealDrums, as I don't have room for a drum kit in my small recording studio.

I think that you're right there Rustyspoon (Misha). I actually uploaded the same WAV file to Soundcloud and Bandcamp, yet on playback, it does appear to sound different on Soundcloud. In fact there is an element of distortion and clicking here and there. I also uploaded an mp3 of the song to Reverbnation which sounds better than the Soundcloud version.
The 16 bit WAV was mastered at high intensity using the LANDR app.
I can only deduce that it must be down to the way Soundcloud processes the file before presenting it.

Lover your resonator. Nice melody and the harmony adds a richness to the vocal, which sounds good.

Thank you for your very helpful advice rayc. I must admit that sometimes I'm not entirely happy with how the vocals sound in my recordings, and I've struggled to understand the reason why.
I use the online LANDR automated mastering service to process my final WAV. Even though I have a Zoom R16 recorder, I tend to use it just for recording vocals and adding my own instrumental tracks (ie. resonator guitar in this particular song), and then I import them individually as WAV files to my project. I like to use Audacity for mixing.
I use BIAB primarily as a songwriting tool, but sometimes I use some of the RealTracks or RealDrums in my recordings, in which case I import them individually (as WAVS) into the Audacity project, but strangely, it has never crossed my mind to interfere with their automatic reverb settings.
I do find that I need to reduce the bass frequency of my vocals in order to increase clarity and reduce booming, and I also add a touch of reverb, but other than that, I only adjust the volume or stereo placement of the RealTracks/RealDrums tracks until I'm happy that I've achieved the best overall balance. Any tracks that I provide myself (eg. guitar), usually already have the required effects applied, so I usually only have to adjust the volume and stereo placement for those. When I'm happy with the mix, I export it as a 16 bit WAV (leaving plenty of headroom), and then I pay to get it mastered using the online automated LANDR app.
The next time I'm working on a project, I will follow your suggestion that I should import dry RealTracks/RealDrums and vocals, and then apply the same type of reverb to everything that needs it. Your advice is much appreciated as I'm always eager to learn and improve my recording/mixing skills.

Really nice song!! I like the folky vibe. Resonator is perfect and compliments an arrangement which is just right. There is a bit of a "bees in a glass" resonance in the vocal. Nice job!! Take care. Greg
