Hi all.
This is a typical lost love ballad.
I'm trying to write all my new songs in the latest styles offered by PG music.
All comments welcome. Rob

The Note

I heard the key turn in the lock then I knew that you had gone away.

My stomach kind of turned inside never had that feeling before today.

Oh! please help me understand I tried so hard did all I can for you.

Emotions well up in my heart I guess there's nothing more that I can do?

Chorus
It will never be the same to live with out you.
and despite my apprehensions I'll carry on.

Bridge

Chorus
It will never be the same to live with out you.
despite my apprehensions I'll carry on.

I wrote a note the other day said all the words I'd forgot to say to you.
If only I could persuade, I'd take it and make it brand new.

I hope all things go well for you I know you must be hurting like I am.
Hope time takes all pain away and I become a much wiser man.

Chorus
It will never be the same to live with out you.
despite my apprehensions I'll carry on.
Yes despite my apprehensions I'll carry on

Great emotional write & delivery...
It seems to me your vocal captures the rich vibrato textures displayed by Presley & Orbison...
Very nicely done...
I also liked the added effects of background whispers...
Again very nicely done...
I like it!

Rob,
another great tune. Vocals are excellent! I like whisper textures on it. Little different from the others that I have heard, but unmistakably you.
I wonder if you do a slow and "dark" ballad how would it sound? I can almost hear it smile

Thank you for sharing!

Bob, a lovely song with a tidy, solid arrangement behind it.
The swells in the pedal steel give this a Richard Hawley feel!
I'd be inclined to cut the tails from the vibrato line ends as well as a little de-essing.
Nice work - lovely song.

Cheers

Hi Bob ...

I always look forward to a new post from you. You have such a smooth, pleasant voice. I like how you went to just the acoustic guitar background after the first chorus - and then bring back the rest of the backing tracks. That was a real nice touch!

And those very faint response whispers in the choruses - fantastic!

Love the style and tracks you selected - excellent choices. I agree with the Marty Robbins comments; but I can also hear a little John Denver in it.

Super listen, Bob. I really enjoyed it. Great stuff! Wishing you the very best ...

Alan

Really nice work on this smile The arrangement is really professional, and your vocals are haunting and pretty on this one. It flows gorgeously, and is nicely catchy too without being overbearing.

Thanks for sharing!

Rob, this is a great love song. It would be difficult to add anything to what Al said. He summed it all up very nicely.

This one just oozes emotion from the plaintive write/vocals and and the every effective arrangement.

Excellent!

This is absolutely beautiful... I love the song and vocal. Some great layers on the whispered spoken vocal part. Really outstanding.

Excellent on all levels.

Such a beautiful folky song. Simple but emotional melody and your vocals, right amount of sadness in your voice. Great arrangement, I like that pedal steel - and I really miss it in the ending. Excellent mix, reverb is right there and drums sound powerful.

Hi Rob,

This is a terrific singer/songwriter style. It's got a wonderful melancholic sound that suits your song and your vocals really well. Some really cool production elements shining in this arrangement. You captured my imagination!

A very pleasant listen.

All the best,
Neo
