So one of the infamous Windows 10 updates this year has removed my access to the Sound Control Panel from the speaker icon in the lower right tray area near the clock. Now when I right-click on the speaker icon, I see "Open Sound Settings" and "Open Volume mixer". Clicking on "Open Sound Settings", then clicking "Sound Control Panel" in the right side of the menu will get you there. That's too many clicks for me. I found a solution to just drop a shortcut on my Desktop so that I can pull it right open.

From the google: "To do this, open Control Panel, and go to Hardware and sound. Right-click Sound and select Create Shortcut. This will create a shortcut on the desktop. You can use this shortcut to open the Sound window."

I frequent these settings as browsers and music apps tend to use different settings and sometimes it's just easier to change those here.
