Could someone please shed some light oh how to use the Bar Settings to Fade (per bar) and/or Louder (per bar)?

I would like to fade real tracks in and out without using DAW.

Also the Bar Settings Change by ? I use a minus number for softer and a volume number for louder. Cannot find the information on use.

Thank you,

Gary Hart

p.s.
I finaly make the jump to audiophile and LOVE it.

yes, put -1 in each bar and it will gradually get quieter and +1 to get louder etc using the F5 button. Works gradually. I use it to fade out at the end of songs. F5 also for changing realtracks, silencing instruments, etc. One of the most useful keys!

Another easy way to automatically fade out a song is by selecting the "Song Settings" button to open the Song Settings window.

The Song Setting window has an automatic fade out feature on the bottom, left side of the window. You can either manually enter the desired number of fade out bars or press the "Fade" button and six (6) bars will be entered.

Yes, lots of different ways. The Bar Settings adjustment allows you to fade down or fade up, great for putting a particular instrument in the background or foreground whenever required, or even changing the level of the entire song.

Regarding the number values when fading or increasing the volume incrementally from the bar settings, the numbers range in step from -127 to +127 so over time I've learn to convert the numbers into percentages based on those maximum and minimum values. It makes it easier to calculate a set number of bars to complete a fade out or less common, a fade in. It also makes it easier to step a fade out where there's an extended and slight fade over a set number of bars and then a higher value is placed at a bar to increase the fade and another few bars increase that value again. Very effective. An example of numbers I use, if I want to bring one instrument forward (louder) in a mix over another instrument, I increase the one and decrease the other the same value. For instance to increase lead guitar, + 6-8 while decreasing the Pedal steel by -6-8

The 2024 Mac version will not allow you use a negative number there. You get an error forcing you between 0 and 127.

Gary, I'm curious, what are some of the reasons you say that? I agree of course, but if you have anything you would like to share, it might be appropriate to add to the article I wrote a few years back about the audiophile version. If you haven't read it, you should enjoy it. https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=378939#Post378939
