Thanks, Herb... (I mentioned elsewhere in the thread, the banjo is one of the loops)

Brothers Osborne. That.

And thanks again for making us aware of them.

You could slide this tune in on any popular Americana or modern country streaming playlist and it would make a perfect fit. Actually a top of the heap fit.

Janice rarely uses the word but she said CATCHY and that it made her want to dance.

That is one dangerous gal and your imagery is like watching a movie!

Killer vocal and a stunning mix soundstage to present it all.

And a superb melding of RT's and loops...seamless to the max.

Yeah!

Y'all know I appreciate that...

Hi Floyd,

Well yes, this is my kind of music - a bit of blues mixed in with the country.

The groove is what makes this so fabulous. It really kicks right from the off and
keeps trucking right the way through. Even when you scale it back later on it
keeps pushing forward.

Obviously the lyrics are cool and the vocals are superb.

Dare I mention a solo? Maybe not....

All the best, ROG.

Other words to describe your son are cool and relaxing. I picture myself drinking a whiskey in some old tavern, on my own, sad (and all that) and then this song starts playing! Makes me ordering another whiskey.
Very well done, Floyd!

Floyd,

Classic country rock, expertly put together. Fantastic mix—really cool how you balance all those guitars together—really tight band! Add me to the list of admirers on this one. This is as good as any pro demo production, IMHO—beyond impressive.

My humble regards,

Deej

ROG - always good to have you drop in... Not much room for a solo in this one...thought there is one that lasts for about 2 seconds smile

Hi Floyd, sorry for my belatedness.

Wow, the girl may be dangerous, but this song is more than that: it's infectious.

To me one of your best. Great singing (love the harmony vocals a lot), a perfect backing track, everything sounds brilliantly. A treat !.

Take care,

Stefan

I'm not late to the party, I'm pretty sure it was yesterday. cry

I'm assuming this was the song that knocked 10,000 hours off the Billboard country chart? Talk about dropping the mic. Wow! It has that "Any questions? I didn't think so!" kind of feel. Sort of a "Bullrider" meets "The Devil Went Down To Georgia."

Man, this song is exactly as it should be. Strong musical presence combined with a strong voice and harmonies; to demonstrate how powerful this woman is. Love it! It's not some wimpy boy likes a girl song. It's MAN talking about a WOMAN. By nature, that is going to grab your attention. Everything about this song is cohesive to that premise.

Damn, just a great song. I hope they write a movie base on it! wink

Great as always!

A nice demonstration of what good song writing and BIAB can do when both are let out into the back yard at the same time....

Great arrangement, production and performance. A good write. All together, quite as dangerous a combination as the wrong woman...

Hi floyd,

This is an incredible testimony to your prowess as a singer, songwriter, arranger and producer. From every perspective, you get the gold medal for this. (I love your vocals especially).

I'm sitting here and listening through my headphones. The sound I'm hearing is awesome. No-one who encounters this song would think that it's a product of backing generation software. It's so easy to 'see' the group who is performing this inside my mind.

I've listened to this a few times this morning trying to isolate the loops that you've used. It's been time very well spent! The more I think about it, the more it seems to me that the loops are seriously helping to boost the feeling of 'contemporary music' in this arrangement. Honesty, the sound radiates super-professional in stereo!

And the way these lyrics flow using the combination of meter, rhyme and lack of rhyme is incredible. I love that the hook is not rhymed; it really makes it stand out.

Below is how I see/hear the lyrics from a technical perspective. The hook scans as either 3 or 4 feet (using poetic terms).

How the word "dangerous" is sung makes determining the meter of the hook line a little harder. As I hear it, it's sung with three equally weighted syllables -- thus the word is 3 feet long. This makes the line 4 feet long. From a dictionary's perspective, though, "dangerous" has a stong-weak-medium syllable-strength pattern. As this makes the word only 2 feet long, the line then scans as 3 feet.

At the end of the day, though, the meter of the hook line doesn't matter because it has no rhythm-and-rhyme relationship to any thing else in the song… it stands alone. That's the important bit and, most significantly, this is was makes it stand out as the hook... brilliant craftsmanship.

In the chorus where the 2-2-3, 2-2-3 meter runs rampant, it's so good how you set the listener up with this very engaging lyric rhythm by using it three times. Then you pull the rug out from under the listener by interrupting the balancing fourth lot of 2-2-3 and using the title line! This surprise factor enhances the impact of the hook incredibly well.

Lastly, I congratulate you on creating a lyric that is easily changed to accommodate a female singer. It’s very versatile in this regard.

Yet another work of songwriting art!

All the best,
Noel
