Cool tune. Yep... Good topic too. I liked it.
I found it a hard thing to write about my kids growing up and leaving home. Always a dramatic change.

Nice write and production - the song does a excellent job moving through an emotional arc, both lyrically and musically.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Hi Guitarhacker, I found it hard too, although this is more about how we dealt with it when the kids had left. It is written a bit romantic, or sweet (as Ray would say ). but it is the way it goes and should go. Getting used to this is a bit like 'conquering eternity' although it is so normal that we are not aware of it. that is the meaning of the last line. I like to think of these things in such a way.
Thanks for liking the song!

Hello David, thanks for your compliments. Don't be shocked if my next song deals with something completely different...

Have a nice and safe day,
Hans

Nice song that has gotten a lot of well-deserved accolades. I'm listening again, it really has a sweetness to it both lyrically and melodically. Great work!

The lone guitar at the start is very effective and fits the moods. Nice build with the instrumentation.

Pleasant melody. You added some variety to keep it aurally interesting!

Hi tuneMonger, about your first sentence, I had to look up in Google. I didn't know the meaning of 'accolades'. In Dutch we have the same word but then they mean the signs for and after this word in my line. It is a French word meaning 'a hug'.
Thanks for your nice comment! I received an email from a Dutch musician saying that I reached the first place in a SoundCloud ranking for sing a songwriters and also a high ending in another chard (top 50 of the week). My son, who is in Mexico now, confirmed it, so it must have been an international ranking. I expected my phone will be ringing constantly from producers and fans. Also the amount of listeners will get sky high and I become (more) famous now. I started searching for a new house with a greater studio. The day after I noticed nothing happened, but it was a nice moment of fame...

Hello Ezekiel, thanks very much for your post. It was that part I liked too. Just a guitar and me singing. But not for too long. I thought it would get boring after a while. But the main reason was that I wanted to mark that new morning, when you get over your mourning (...).

Stay safe overthere,
Hans
