Unreal Reality

Something I put together a couple of months. Don't currently access to the tracks but will post them as soon as I find them. We recently moved into our new house and haven't run across the memory stick with all the info on it - packed in one of many boxes yet unopened! But it's all BIAB.

Thanks for listening. Open to any and all comments / suggestions.

Di and I wish everyone a wonderful Christmas and a prosperous & Happy New Year.

Alan & Di

I loved the power of the tune. The guitar tone is really good as well as the playing! I could easily see myself listening to that music while driving in a convertible (as I did in the desert of Nevada). Arrangement is great as well. Really enjoyed it!

Thanks, Angelo!

Well, up until a few years ago, I had convertibles almost all my adult life (almost 74 years old now). I plan on getting another one soon! Glad you enjoyed it. I used to do almost all my own guitar work until a few years ago. Had a mini-stroke and then diagnosed with a disease called Focal Dystonia. It limits the use of my fingers and makes them want to clamp down hard on anything I grasp. But that's okay ... I made quite a bit of cash playing guitar for many years. So, it's all good.

Again, thanks for letting me know you enjoyed it! Best to you. Take care and be safe ...

Alan

Love this, Alan!

That guitar lead is perfect, must have taken a while to get it sounding so natural. Track sounds great too.

Best to you and Di, hope you guys have a great Christmas.

Hi Dave ...

Many thanks. All I did to the lead guitar was add a small amount of distortion and an even smaller amount of echo/delay. The rest of it is because of the great folks at PG Music/ BIAB. What a great piece of software for musicians!

Wishing you & yours a really terrific Christmas. Take care and be safe ...

Hi Floyd ...

You wouldn't have any reason to know ... but when you can't sing for crap but want to make something of a mark in music, you'd better find something you're pretty good at and try to take that ability as far as you can. I keep working at it but yet try to keep it as simple as possible. SO, that's my goal. It's reassuring to know that I'm doing something reasonably good!

I don't put near as much time into my music creation as most of the folks on this forum do, but I work hard in the time frame I give it and the archaic methods I employ..

Thank you again for your kindness. Wishing you & yours the very best. Have a Merry Christmas and be safe ...

Alan

I am so sorry about what did happen to you. BUT, you have to be even MORE proud of yourself about what you can do regardless! You have a big heart, this is admirable.

Oh Alan,

you're just 'putting them together' one after the other - it's just unbelievable. Otheres (okay, I...) need weeks to write something lightyears away from your gems.

Another very cool one, another evidence of your endless talent.

In these difficult times we all need an additional bag of good wishes for the year ahead, and that's exactly what your German friends have in store for you: A most happy and most of all healthy 2021, may the only way be up !

Big hugs from Maha and me, Merry Christmas and all the best,

Stefan

Alan & Di, you are consistently entertainling. I know even before pushing play that I'm in for a treat. So much feeling in that guitar, Alan. Your chops really cut through on that ax, man. Tone and taste. Merry Christmas to you both!! Enjoy it in your new home.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Hi Again, Angelo ...

I appreciate those very nice words ... thank you. I don't dwell on the medical issues very much. My 55+ years in the music business has been very rewarding and way too much fun! I still practice guitar at least an hour every day with few exceptions.

My biggest concern is my wife's health. She's almost died several times over the past two years. But she hangs in there. And she's a marvelous singer!

If you're interested, here's a link to a song my wife and I wrote and recorded back in 2011. She's singing and I'm playing the guitar parts.

Stefan, My Dear Friend ...

I always smile when I see a comment from you (or a new song). Thank you very much for your never-ending kindness to my music and to Di and me.

I'm very happy you enjoy mine and Di's music. And we, in turn, think you and Maha are beyond great!

You probably already know I use a very simple method - almost archaic - in the way I record and mix my music. Normally, I can write and record a song in 8 hours or less. I'm not as sophisticated as most people here as far as musical recording is concerned. But I guess I get decent results.

Wishing you and Maha everything good for 2021 and hope you have a very Merry Christmas. Sincere hugs of freindship coming from our house to yours. Wishing both of you the very best ...

Alan & Di

Well done! I dream of doing stuff like this. I recognized this fantastic Brent Mason. But this Solo !!! I wouldn't know how to pull it out so well. Probably parts of Multiriffs? Really gorgeous. Thank you for listening.

Alan, you are the MASTER at mining the RT’s for golden licks! Your persistence sure pays off in the resulting tracks you generate..I deeply admire your skill in this specific area—wish I had that kind of focus! Best to both of you!

Hi Marco ...

Many years ago, I had a good friend named Marco. It's a name I don't here very often.

Thank you for the very kind comments! And yeah, Brent is quite the guitarist ... a lot of other stringed instruments, too. It's not a multi-riff. I just play around with various tracks until I find the combination I want. Sometimes it works out okay ... other time, not so much. Glad you enjoyed this one. I appreciate you letting me know.

The only "sculpturing" I did to Brent's track was a small amount of distortion and the very slightest hint of echo/delay. Other than that ... it's all him.

Wishing you well. Hope you have a really nice Christmas and terrific 2021.

Alan

Tangmo ... Everytime I see your screen name, I think "I want more Tang!" Of course a lot of the younger folks may not know what that means.

Thank you for your very, very nice words. I sincerely appreciate them. Of most of them songs I post here, at least 50% of the time effort is in previewing tracks and taking them for a test drive. I generally have a pretty good idea of what kind of track I want ... but sometimes when i choose one, it just doesn't work. So, back to test drives. But, sometimes I'm surprised by a track and make note of it for a different song. BIAB is just so full of ways to created almost any song you could want. I love it! And I always love your posts.

Wishing you the very best for the holidays and a fabulous 2021. Warmest wishes from both of us ...
