Hello friends. This is a track I started writing almost 40 years ago traveling from Dublin to Cork. I saw a sign for steal away Farm oh, never went there but it's stuck in my head 10 years later I wrote another verse 10 years later I wrote yet another verse and recently a bridge and decided on a style. It was going to be a Latin or Brazilian or Cuban thing and I was talking with my friend Matt Finley but I could just never make that track work and I wound up going back to the original Celtic reel real style Sarah Wilfong came on board for the fiddle and my engineer Donny Thompson added a little side stick to the bodhan. https://youtu.be/uaenx83ZPdQThe entire album great wishes and small was done with audiophile 2020 with some added instruments and of course vocals. Really enjoyed this, and I absolutely think your choice of Celtic Style is definitely perfect for this song.
Top job, no question. This is excellent material. My only small comment is that the fiddle might sit a little too much in front of the mix, but that's a very minor thing.
Outstanding lyrics, and your rhyming style is both intriguing and entertaining.

Thank you so very much VT. Writing one verse every decade made pulling it all together in the end a fun challenge. WSS

WSS,
Nice song. Cool sound. Good vocals. Nicely mixed.
Even with the Celtic tracks, you did manage to give it a bit of a Latin feel...
Enjoyed the listen.

Hi Steve,
It is a beautiful composition that you submit to us. The Celtic atmosphere lends itself wonderfully to the melody. The orchestration is impeccable and the mix excellent. I wish you my best wishes for happiness and health for the new year.

Hello Steve ...
Floyd hit the nail on the head (when doesn't he?). A super listen. You7r vocal is so pristine and enjoyable. The bass lime gives this just enough of the Latin beat to bring it perfectly into the mix.
Totally enjoyed this ... a great listen! Isn't it interesting how good music potential never dies??!! Sometimes it just needs a nudge.
Merry Christmas and wishes for a great 2021.
Alan

Westside Steve,
Nice sweet-sounding singer-songwriter/country folk tune. I like the choice of the Celtic style. I can see how this could work in a Latin or Cuban style, but I don’t think it would match the lyric as well as the Celtic. And you’ve executed it very well. Enjoyed the listen!
All my best,
Deej

Derochette Alan Greg Deej Thank you all very kindly. Yes funny how things can sit on the shelf for decades. I guess that's one of the reasons I never clean out my studio (or car or closet)! Haha. I think I still have a plastic box full of scsi cables and Jaz discs.

I really enjoyed this, very pro production and results. Good singing and fiddle playing. It sounds more Tex-Mex than anything to me.

Lovely song, wonderful vocal overall production. If I read that correctly the fiddle was played by Sarah, who sounds like a real virtuoso.
Superb work.

Nice one, Steve. The style is well-suited to the lyrics and the vocals top off an excellent production.
My music may not set the world on fire but if it causes a glow in just one person's heart, it has all been worthwhile
