Now that's a toe-tapping, fun, rollicking number! I enjoyed this. Back to basics sounds good.

Rog

Great stuff - hear all the influences (Lay Down Sally, J J Cale & I'll add Jim Byfield).

A really nice listen and extremely well played.

I close my eyes and I can picture the combination of Waylon, Kris, Johnny, and Merle singing this, and even throw in a little Hank Jr. Well done!!

Hi Leon,
Singing along is a great complement, thank you.
Many thanks too for the listen and review.

Excellent tune as is!

All my best,

Hi Deej,
Maybe I should point out that the "infectious drum" isn't any thing to do with Covid-19. eek
I like the suggestion for the ending - an opportunity missed I'm afraid.
Many thanks for looking in and the positive comments.

Not gonna parse this out ... just diggin' the live band feel and had rather listen more.

Nice 10th year anniversary indeed!

J&B

Hi there J&B,
I'm a long-time JJ Cale fan and remember being so impressed by his album "5" which I wore out and had to buy on again on CD.
I'm humbled at the comparison and many thanks for that and the kind review.
Cheers,
ROG.

Hi All,

Many thanks to all those who've suggested the many influences that have been
brought to bear on this track - I'm flattered and humbled to be mentioned in
the same sentence as all those. There is one lesser known musician though, who
has always influenced my playing and that is Robert Higgenbothom.
No it's not a joke and he's better known under his performing name of Tommy Tucker
who wrote and recorded the classic High-Heel Sneakers. I love most of his work, but
one of my favourites is Sitting Home Alone.
Click the title to hear it on YouTube - if you liked my track, then you'll maybe like Robert Higgenbothom
as much as I do.

Many thanks again to you all.
Cheers,
ROG.

Lead guitar style was a like like Fogerty's. There's some really good music to be made with just "the basics". I played in a four-piece group for a number of years and the basics covered a lot of ground.

As always, your mix was spot-on. Very nice listen, indeed!

Wishing you the very best ...

Alan

Hi Alan,

You're very kind with all your comments.
I enjoyed keeping the track count down and getting back to basics. With fewer instruments running, it's
easier to concentrate on getting the rhythms to work together, creating the "groove".

Glad you liked it and many thanks for the listen and review - much appreciated.
Take care and the best to you and Di.

This sounds great! Everything "pops".

Great drum sound and a nice punchy bass. Terrific guitar work. And good vocals.

Excellent mix.

Hi Rog
Nice clean guitars and the bass really pumps . Sounds like a mixture of the Stones and Dire Straits ,two of my favs so I had to like this . Not a fan of fade outs but that doesn't distract from the high quality of this song. I am also a 20+ year user of Powertracks and as you say ; "it's great for getting back to basics" and the great sound you achieved is testament to that.

LOL reminds me of my better 'alf who can't read a road map!
Fun song , well played and recorded and a pleasurable listen.

ps sorry for the late comment. Been awol like your lady.
cheers

Hi Gary,
I like the Stones and Straits references - two of my favs as well!
I started using Powertracks because the first time I booted it, I found I knew how to work it. Couldn't
say that for any of the others. When you really get into the detail, it has more editing and mixing
power than most of the established front runners. It really is the "hidden secret" of DAWS.
Anyway, many thanks for the listen and review.
Cheers,
ROG.
