Hello forum friends. Don't get around here as often as I like, but I'm constantly blown away by the quality of the songs! Some great new stuff on here daily! This is a song of mine combining cynicism, sarcasm, and a chaser of humor to wash it all down. Robert KC uses the handle "Two Bit Mystic". Always got a kick out of that, and would describe this song under my analogous handle of "Dime Store Philosopher". Hope you find it non offensive and enjoyable. ALWAYS love to hear what you think. Will post lyrics soon. Take care friends! Greg

The band:

Bass. 366
Piano. 1725 (midi through Komplete piano)
Drums. Nashville even 16 sidestickride
Ac. Gtr. 1037
Elect. Rhythm. 869/636
Gtr Solo. 2692

Greg,
I think your own description fits really well - can I just ditto that...grin A well written, well sung, well arranged song - one of your best imo - of course I'm a huge fan. Personally I could do without the expletive but it fits the angst your character feels so I get it. Overall top drawer for me.

Lovely work. Excellent vocal (as always) that beautifully fits the lyrics.

Don Henley would be proud of this one....

Really enjoyed.

Hi Greg,

what a lovely song. Musically it reminds me a bit on America.

Beautiful melody, ace vocals, top-noch choice of the band. And it sounds flawless.

Any chance you might post the lyrics?

A really nice listen

Take care,

Stefan

Hi Greg,

Good to see you back with a new song!

Excellent write as usual. "I put more faith in Dr. Seuss", you made me smile with that line! Love the dialogue about the hobo too.

Great sounding track, and of course that wonderful vocal!

Excellent, enjoyed very much.

"cynicism, sarcasm, and a chaser of humor" GREAT! A new song by Greg Johnson... GREAT! Very well done as always, Greg. Every aspect shows your talent. Excellent idea, lyrics, write, instrument choices, production, mix and the best vocal since... well, since your last one.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Hello Greg,

I was very pleasantly surprised by this song. What a good performance and band!
I listened a couple of times, not only to understand what you sang, but more because I enjoyed the melody and the very good vocals in it.
I can fully endorse all the compliments I read in the other posts. It's true.
And the solo at the end was very well done.

I only agree with Stefan about the lyrics...

Hans

Greg,

A lot of dime-store philosophy pack into that Write!! Good thought-provoking lyrics that sit nicely on the ear. You have a marvelous way with words. Natural and smooth and always interesting (never mundane).

Add to that your always-beautiful, always-sing-able melodies and you end up with a joy-to-listen-to result...

Good BAND, good vocal, good mix.

One hit after another. Top-shelf. (again and again).

Excellent.

Hi Greg,

Yes - I also really enjoyed your new song.

Song - very nice melody, good chorus and excellent lyrics.

Vocals - excellent.

Backing instruments - good.

Mix - good - I may be tempted to drop out some instruments in the middle of the song and just have your voice and say piano for half a verse.

Lead Break - I may be tempted to put it earlier in the song to give it a bit more light and shade in the middle of the song.

The song is fine as is - the above are just a few suggestions to take it to a new level.

Best Regards
Nigel

Liked soft and catchy groove of this tune very much, combined with great lyrics and performance, makes it a winner in my book.
Ohh yes, solo - very cool! Thank you for sharing.

The Lines about the Tesla cars...love it and all of that brought home by Bezos, Branson & Musk doing everything the super rich shouldn't do with their Pandemic Profits.
LOVELY song on all levels.

Cheers

healthy hints of The Eagles influence, and commendations for proper use of expletive. Good 'un.

Loved the way you produced this song Greg. Had a little different feel and texture to it. In a good way of course. As always super vocal and lyric. Well done
