It's why I've been an advocate of having all the forums 'registered users'.

Then have an open forum, that's not indexed by google, where non registered users and people wanting to ask questions can do that, if any of us want to answer.

The ability to use a fake name, provide no information at all, and start posting has always bugged me. How do we know the guy with the fake accent and pitchfork is really from UzbeckaStan or just someone who's peed off and uses a work or library computer to crank people up?

And the longer the code for these boards stays static, the easier it is to write a bot to post pre coded messages using google to find someone asking a question, use google to find the version of the Powered by UBB.threads™ 6.5.5, and then run a script, make a user, and push a post.
