"He who lives in the memory of his loved ones is not dead,
he is only distant. Dead is only who is forgotten."
- Immanuel Kant -

Listen to THE SHINING SKY

I’m still surrounded by the darkness
and it seems like yesterday
iI's like a never ending process
I am here and you are on the way

And there is still so much that I want to telling you
but I think you already knew it long ago

I am now looking up
to the shining sky
Want to get out of the dark
no longer wants to asking why

I am now looking up
to the shining sky
Nothing is the way it was
but now I want to stop cry

Whenever i drive by your window
I see you waving to me
Your smile is like a rainbow
and will remain so for all eternity

You brought a lot of love into my life
and I always want to touch your light

Hi Andi,

Excellent lyrics and musical arrangement. Also a very sweet sounding timber in your voice. I can already tell you're going to be a quick favorite around here! Nice tune, thanks for posting!

Hi Andi,

Very nice ballad, good choice of instruments and nice arrangement.

Good vocal. A little too much processing on it for my tastes, but I'm old school in that regards I guess smile

Hello Andi,

The song is beautiful, with nice strings to support it.
The composition is cleaver made. i like that.

About your vocals it looks as if you hold back in your singing as if you want to prefend it to clip.
You can hear that very much in where you start with: "Whenever i drive by your window..."
I think you need to sing more full and give your 'despair' more body.
If you do that this will become a very nice song!

And welcome in the forum, by the way,
Hans

Hello Hans
Thank you for your feedback.
I agree with you 100 percent.
A good singer can get much more out of this song (and also out of my others).
I was never a singer. But I also don't know anyone who wants to sing my songs.
And now that I have such a great band with BiaB I just try to sing it myself as good as I can.
Many greetings
Andi ;-)

Andi,

A nice song. Good arrangement. Good mix.

I like the vocal processing. (I USED to be old-school like Dave, but I'm not any more smile )

Well done. Enjoyed the listen.

Hello Floyd
Well, if I could do without vocal effects
I probably wouldn't use them so much either ;-)
But with effects I really feel better
Thanks for your feedback

I really like this one Andi! That violin at the start and in various spots really was an excellent choice! It's a lovely song that you did a super job with in all aspects! Thanks, Torrey

Masterful composition, Andi. Great band you've chosen, too. Excellent vocal. There's something particularly interesting in the quality of your vocal. Very well done.

Enjoy whatever happens!

That sounded good.

I'm going to guess that English isn't your native tongue.

Aside from a few incidental grammatical errors.... No big deal really... You have a very cool timbre to your voice. I don't think you need to cover it up or hide behind vocal effects. If you want to double the vox for fullness you should have one of the tracks up front and the others down to barely audible and panned wide. Oh, and don't clone them. Record them each.

I liked the song. I'll check out some of the other stuff you posted.

Hello Guitarhacker
thanks for your feedback and tips
Can you maybe tell me which errors
are in the text?
That's really a pity that I don't have anyone to
check my texts
fortunately they are only small mistakes ;-)
Many greetings
Andi ;-)
